PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK DTC Check if a CAN communication DTC other than C1761 is output Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382796-S22692056532011012800000) . Result Result Proceed to Only C1761 is output A CAN communication DTC is output B B --> REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE A --> REPLACE ABSORBER CONTROL ECU
  1. CHECK DTC Clear the DTC Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382796-S22692056532011012800000) . Turn the engine switch off. Turn the engine switch on (IG) again and check that no CAN communication system DTC is output. Start the engine. Drive the vehicle and turn the steering wheel to the right and left at the speed of 24 mph (35 km/h) to check that a DTC is output Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382796-S22692056532011012800000) . Result Result Proceed to Only C1773 is output A CAN communication DTC is output B B --> REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE A --> CHECK VGRS SYSTEM
  1. CHECK DTC Check if any speed sensor DTCs (Brake control system trouble code: C0200/31, C0205/32, C0210/33, C0215/34, C1235/35, C1236/36, C1238/38, C1239/39) or a CAN communication DTC (U0122/67) is output together with DTC C1776 Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382796-S22692056532011012800000) , Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382790-S21075298622011012800000) (2GR-FSE) and Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382793-S21584973372011012800000) (1UR-FSE)). Result Result Proceed to Only DTC C1776 is output A Speed sensor DTC is output (Brake control system trouble code) B CAN communication DTC is output C C --> REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE B --> REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE A: Go to next step
  2. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM Connect Techstream to DLC3. Start the engine and turn the Techstream main switch on. Select "DATA LIST" mode on Techstream Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-382796-S17094436822011012800000) . DATA LIST (EMS): Item Measurement Item/ Range (Display) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note VEHICLE SPD Vehicle speed reading / min.: 0 km/h (0 mph), max: 255 km/h (158 mph) Actual wheel speed Speed indicated on speedometer Check that there is no difference between the speed value output from the skid control ECU displayed on Techstream and the speed value displayed on the speedometer when driving the vehicle. OK The speed value output from the skid control ECU displayed on Techstream is the same as the actual vehicle speed. NG --> CHECK BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM (SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL) OK: Go to next step
  3. RECONFIRM DTC Clear the DTC Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382796-S22692056532011012800000) . Perform a road test. Check if the same DTC is recorded Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382796-S22692056532011012800000) .   4. INSPECT MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM Check if the multiplex communication system DTC is output Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-382788-S39836073052011012800000) . Result Result Proceed to DTC is not output A DTC is output B B --> REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE A: Go to next step
  5. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Check the combination meter assembly Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-382731-S07715468002011012800000) . OK The combination meter assembly is normal.
