This DTC is output when a failure of the automatic light control sensor circuit is detected.

  1. CHECK OPERATION (AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and Techstream ON. Check that the value of the illumination rate changes in the following range when light contacts the light sensor or when the light sensor is covered. OK 0.008 to 0.022 seconds HINT: This is the time taken for the light sensor to generate one cycle of frequency according to the brightness. OK --> REPAIR MAIN BODY ECU RH NG: Go to next step
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - SENSOR) Disconnect the K67 ECU connector. Disconnect the L1 sensor connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition K67-6 (CLTB) - L1-6 (CLTB) Below 1 ohms K67-4 (CLTE) - L1-3 (CLTE) Below 1 ohms K67-5 (CLTS) - L1-5 (CLTS) Below 1 ohms K67-6 (CLTB) - Body ground 10 kohms or higher K67-4 (CLTE) - Body ground 10 kohms or higher K67-5 (CLTS) - Body ground 10 kohms or higher NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  3. CHECK AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR Disconnect the L1 sensor connector. Connect the voltmeter's positive (+) lead to terminal 6 (CLTB) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3 (CLTE). Measure the voltage of the connector. Standard voltage Tester Connection Specified Condition L1-3 (CLTE) - L1-6 (CLTB) 10 to 14 V Measure the resistance of the connector. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition L1-3 (CLTE) - Body ground Below 1 ohms Connect the L1 sensor connector. Check the waveform of the connector. Standard voltage Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Tester Range L1-3 (CLTE) - L1-5 (CLTS) Power switch ON (IG), headlight dimmer switch in AUTO Correct waveform is as shown 5 V / Division, 5 msec / Division If the ambient light becomes brighter, width A becomes narrower. The electric current flowing in the transistor inside the junction block is examined by the rear multiplex network ECU.

When excessive current is detected, DTC B2402 is output.

When overheating occurs prior to an excessive current, the ECU cuts off the current in the transistor to prevent it from being damaged and outputs DTC B2403.

Normally, turning off the power switch clears DTC. However, if an excessive current is detected frequently (9 times or more), DTC may not be cleared.

When this happens, disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to clear DTC.

The swivel actuator receives the signal from the AFS ECU to operate and sends the signal regarding the direction of the headlight and condition of the headlight swivel motor to the AFS ECU.

The AFS ECU receives signals regarding the lighting condition of the headlight, shift position of the transmission, engine condition from the generator and vehicle speed from the combination meter using multiplex communication system.

The headlight relay is turned ON by operating the headlight switch.

When the theft deterrent system is activated, it causes the main body ECU RH to turn the headlight relay on and off repeatedly at approximately 0.25 second intervals to flash the headlights.

In this condition, if any of the following operations is performed, the ECU to turns the headlight relay off to stop the headlight from flashing

  1. Unlock the driver door with a key.
  2. Turn the power switch ON (ACC) or ON (IG).
  3. Unlock the doors with the wireless door lock control system.

Disconnect the LA ECU connector. Disconnect the Y9 combination light connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition LA-22 (TIL1) - Y9-2 Below 1 ohms LA-22 (TIL1) or Y9-2 - Body ground 10 kohms or higher Connect the LA ECU connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition Y9-4 - Body ground Below 1 ohms NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  11. REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT (TAIL INNER LH OR TAIL INNER RH) Temporarily replace the rear combination light (tail inner LH or tail inner RH) with a new or normally functioning one. Check that the rear combination light illuminates. OK Light illuminates. OK --> END NG --> PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR MULTIPLEX NETWORK ECU - COMBINATION LIGHT AND BODY GROUND) Check the wire harness between the rear combination light (tail outer LH) and rear multiplex network ECU, and the rear combination light (tail outer LH) and body ground. Disconnect the LG ECU connector. Disconnect the X1 combination light connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition LG-5 (TIL2) - X1-5 (TL) Below 1 ohms LG-5 (TIL2) or X1-5 (TL) - Body ground 10 kohms or higher Connect the LG ECU connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition X1-6 (E) - Body ground Below 1 ohms Check the wire harness between the rear combination light (tail outer RH) and rear multiplex network ECU, and the rear combination light (tail outer RH) and body ground. Disconnect the LG ECU connector. Disconnect the X3 combination light connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition LG-5 (TIL2) - X3-5 (TL) Below 1 ohms LG-5 (TIL2) or X3-5 (TL) - Body ground 10 kohms or higher Connect the LG ECU connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.   15. REPLACE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT Temporarily replace the license plate light with a new or normally functioning one. Check that the light illuminates. OK Light illuminates. OK --> END NG --> PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
