SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. REAR SUNSHADE SYSTEM DESCRIPTION The rear sunshade is raised or lowered by operating the rear sunshade switch located in the integration control and panel assembly. When the shift lever is on R, the PNP switch sends a reverse-linked signal to the rear sunshade relay, and the rear sunshade lowers. When the shift lever is moved to P or the vehicle speed is 15 km/h (9.3 mph) or more, the rear sunshade is raised. Using the Techstream, the reverse-linked sunshade lowering function's response time can be customized to one of the following seconds: 0, 0.7, 0.9, 1.2.

When the rear sunshade switch is pressed, a signal is sent directly to the integration control and panel assembly. Then the signal is sent through the multiplex communication line to the luggage room junction block (luggage room junction block ECU), which operates the rear sunshade relay.

  1. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ECU - INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY) Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-386979-S20279454612011022400000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REAR SUNSHADE SWITCH) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the rear sunshade switch. INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Rear Sunshade Switch Rear sunshade switch (front switch) / ON or OFF ON: Rear sunshade switch is pressed OFF: Rear sunshade switch is not pressed OK "ON" (rear sunshade switch is pressed) appears on the screen. NG --> REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY OK: Go to next step
  3. INSPECT FUSE (RR J/B, RR S/SHADE) Remove the RR J/B fuse from the engine room No. 1 relay block. Remove the RR S/SHADE fuse from the luggage room junction block. Measure the resistance of the fuses. Standard resistance Below 1 ohms NG --> REPLACE FUSE OK: Go to next step
  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK - REAR SUNSHADE RELAY, BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) Disconnect the V25 relay connector. Disconnect the LB, LC and LF junction block connectors. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors. Standard resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition LC-28 - V25-1 (B) Always Below 1 ohms LC-26 - V25-3 (SW) Always Below 1 ohms LC-11 - V25-5 (E) Always Below 1 ohms LF-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms LC-28 - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher LC-26 - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher LC-11 - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector. Standard voltage Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition LB-1 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  5. INSPECT REAR SUNSHADE ASSEMBLY (MOTOR OPERATION) Check the rear sunshade. Refer to «ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1»(ref-387112-S34962699982011022400000) . OK Rear sunshade raises and lowers. NG --> REPLACE REAR SUNSHADE ASSEMBLY OK: Go to next step
  6. INSPECT REAR SUNSHADE RELAY After replacing the rear sunshade relay with a normal one, check that the rear sunshade can operate normally. OK Rear sunshade can operate normally. NG --> REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY OK --> NORMAL (REAR SUNSHADE RELAY DEFECTIVE)

When the power switch is ON (IG) and the rear sunshade is raised, moving the shift lever to R causes the PNP switch to send a reverse-linked signal to the ECM. Then the ECM sends the signal through the multiplex communication line to the multiplex network rear ECU (luggage room junction block ECU), which sends the signal to the rear sunshade relay. The relay then lowers the rear sunshade.
