PROCEDURE

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and turn the Techstream on. Select the items below in the DATA LIST, and read the displays on the Techstream. BODY NO. 4 (REAR MULTIPLEX NETWORK ECU) Item Measurement Item / Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Tail Light Tr Taillight transistor / ON or OFF ON: Light control switch TAIL or HEAD position OFF: Light control switch other than HEAD position - Stop Light Tr Stop light transistor / ON or BREAK ON: Brake pedal depressed BRAKE: Brake pedal released - High Mount Stop Light Tr High mount stop light transistor / ON or BREAK ON: Brake pedal depressed BREAK: Brake pedal released - License Light Tr License plate transistor / ON or BREAK ON: Light control switch in TAIL position BREAK: Light control switch in position other than HEAD - OK Condition value will be displayed. OK --> NORMAL OPERATION, NOT A MALFUNCTION NG: Go to next step
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR MULTIPLEX NETWORK ECU) Check each circuit in the table below. Suspected Area See procedure Taillight Refer to «Taillight Circuit»(ref-387155-S37591595642011022400000) Stop light Refer to «Stop Light Circuit»(ref-387155-S34360194062011022400000) Back-up light Refer to «Back-up Light Circuit»(ref-387155-S42139509362011022400000) OK Each light illuminates. OK --> REPLACE REAR MULTIPLEX NETWORK ECU
  1. INSPECT COMMUNICATION FUNCTION LARGE-SCALE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (BEAN) Use the Techstream to check if the Multiplex Communication System (MPX) is functioning normally. RESULT Result Proceed to MPX DTC is not output A MPX DTC is output B B --> GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM A --> REPLACE AFS ECU
  1. REPLACE AFS ECU NEXT --> END
  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (AFS OFF SWITCH) Connect the Techstream to (with CAN VIM) the DLC3. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and turn the Techstream ON. Select the items below in the DATA LIST, and read the displays on the Techstream. INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL Item Measurement Item / Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note AFS OFF SW AFS OFF switch / ON or OFF ON: AFS switch ON OFF: AFS switch OFF - OK The display is as specified in the normal condition. NG --> REPLACE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY OK: Go to next step
  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (AFS OFF SWITCH) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and turn the Techstream ON. Select the items below in the DATA LIST, and read the displays on the Techstream. AFS ECU Item Measurement Item / Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note AFS OFF SW AFS OFF switch / ON or OFF ON: AFS switch ON OFF: AFS switch OFF - OK The display is as specified in the normal condition. NG --> PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE OK --> REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
