PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK PART NUMBER (SKID CONTROL ECU AND HV CONTROL ECU) Check that the proper skid control ECU and HV control ECU are installed. NG --> REPLACE ECUS WITH PROPER ONES OK: Go to next step
  2. RECONFIRM DTC Clear the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-386974-S03953297302011022400000) . Turn the power switch ON (IG). Check if the same DTC is recorded. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-386974-S03953297302011022400000) . Result Result Proceed to DTC (C1203/95) is not output A DTC (C1203/95) is output B B --> See step 3 A --> See step 4
  3. REPLACE HV CONTROL ECU. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-387110-S07083299392011022400000)
  4. CHECK INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (SYMPTOM SIMULATION). Refer to «CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS»(ref-386974-S35470785852011022400000)
  1. CHECK YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR INSTALLATION Check that the yaw rate and acceleration sensor has been installed properly. OK The sensor is tightened to the specified torque. The sensor is not tilted. NG --> See step 8 OK: Go to next step
  2. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR Perform the zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor. Refer to «CALIBRATION»(ref-386974-S24847932002011022400000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  3. RECONFIRM DTC Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-386974-S03953297302011022400000) . Turn the power switch ON (READY). Drive the vehicle and turn the steering wheel to the right and left at a speed of 35 km/h (24 mph) or more. Check if the same DTCs are recorded. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-386974-S03953297302011022400000) . RESULT Condition Proceed to DTCs (C1210/36 and C1336/98) are output A DTCs (C1210/36 and C1336/98) are not output B HINT: The DTCs are recorded because zero point calibration has not been completed. End the procedure since the same DTCs are not recorded after completion of zero point calibration. B --> END A: Go to next step
  4. REPLACE YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR Replace the yaw rate and acceleration sensor. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-386953-S22298444782011022400000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  5. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR Perform the zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor. Refer to «CALIBRATION»(ref-386974-S24847932002011022400000) . NEXT: Go to next step

  8. INSTALL YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR CORRECTLY. Refer to «INSTALLATION»(ref-386953-S00794912772011022400000)
  1. INSPECT BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY Disconnect the A16 actuator connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition 2 (BM1) - 31 (GND1) Below 10 ohms 1 (BM2) - 31 (GND1) Below 10 ohms 2 (BM1) - 1 (BM2) Below 1 ohms 31 (GND1) - 32 (GND2) Below 1 ohms 2 (BM1) - 33 (MTT) 450 to 550 ohms 1 (BM2) - 33 (MTT) 450 to 550 ohms NG --> See step 4 OK: Go to next step
  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ACCUMULATOR PRESSURE SENSOR) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch ON (IG). Select the Data List mode on the Techstream. ABS / VSC / TRAC: Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Accumulator Sensor Accumulator pressure sensor / min.: 0 V, max.: 5 V Specified value: 2.6 to 3.8 V - Depress the brake pedal 4 or 5 times to operate the pump motor, and check the output value on the Techstream with the motor stopped (not braking). OK ACC pressure sensor's output voltage does not drop. NG --> See step 4 OK: Go to next step

  1. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor. Refer to «CALIBRATION»(ref-386974-S24847932002011022400000) . HINT: When the stored zero point of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor is erased, steering angle sensor zero point will also be erased. If the zero point and output value of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor and the output value of the speed sensors are not normal, steering angle sensor zero point cannot be acquired normally even if the vehicle is driven straight ahead at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more. NEXT: Go to next step
  2. CHECK STEERING ANGLE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Drive the vehicle straight ahead at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more for at least 5 seconds. Check that the centered position of the steering wheel is correctly set while driving straight ahead. HINT: If front wheel alignment and steering position are adjusted as a result of an off-center steering wheel, acquire yaw rate and acceleration sensor zero point again after the adjustments are completed. OK The centered position of the steering wheel is correctly set. NG --> See step 3 OK: Go to next step
  3. ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT OR STEERING POSITION. Refer to «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-386957-S37344048512011022400000)

  1. CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE Check that there is no fluid leakage in the brake line between the brake actuator and the wheel cylinder which is the cause of DTCs. Check that the brake is not dragging. OK There is no fluid leakage or dragging. NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE APPLICABLE PART OK: Go to next step
  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ACCUMULATOR PRESSURE SENSOR) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch ON (IG). Select the Data List mode on the Techstream. ABS / VSC / TRAC: Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Accumulator Sensor Accumulator pressure sensor / min.: 0 V, max.: 5 V Specified value: 2.6 to 3.8 V - Wait a few minutes without operating the brake pedal. Check that the output value of the accumulator pressure sensor does not decrease and that the pump motor is not activated due to a decrease in accumulator pressure. OK Accumulator pressure does not decrease and the pump motor is not activated due to a decrease in accumulator pressure. NG --> See step 4 OK: Go to next step

Drive the vehicle and turn the steering wheel to the right and left at a speed of 35 km/h (22 mph) and check that no speed sensor and yaw rate and acceleration sensor DTCs are output. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-386974-S03953297302011022400000) . Result Result Proceed to DTCs (C1439/66 and/or C1445/66) are output A CAN communication system DTC is output B Speed sensor and/or yaw rate and acceleration sensor DTC is output C DTCs (C1439/66 and C1445/66) are not output D HINT: If there is a malfunction in the speed sensor or the yaw rate and acceleration sensor, an abnormal value may be output although the steering angle sensor is normal. If the speed sensor and the yaw rate and acceleration sensor DTCs are output simultaneously, repair the sensors and inspect the steering angle sensor. If the same DTC C1439/66 and/or C1445/66 is not output again, the DTC may have been stored due to a temporary loss of the steering angle zero point calibration, such as when the power source voltage drops.
