Wiper Motor

The 2-speed motor contains the parking switch.

Wiper/Washer & Park Position Switch

Wiper/washer and park position switch are part of combination switch.

Adjustable Park Position

If snow or ice collects at bottom of windshield, you can change parking position of wiper arms so they will park higher than normal.

WIPER ARMS

Install wiper arms and hand tighten nuts. Turn wiper switch on, then off. Adjust wiper arms to proper positions. See WIPER ARM POSITION SPECIFICATIONS table. (Scheme 4) Tighten wiper arm nuts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 N.m).

WIPERS & WASHER INOPERATIVE

Check and repair the following items as necessary

  1. Blown WIPER fuse (20-amp) located in interior fuse panel.
  2. Faulty ignition switch or switched power circuit (Black/Yellow wire).
  3. Faulty wiper switch.
  4. Faulty wiper motor.
  5. Open or shorted harness.

WIPERS INOPERATIVE IN LOW, HIGH OR MIST POSITIONS

Check and repair the following items as necessary

  1. Faulty wiper switch.
  2. Faulty wiper motor.
  3. Open or shorted harness.

WIPERS INOPERATIVE IN INTERMITTENT POSITION

Check and repair the following items as necessary

  1. Faulty washer switch.
  2. Faulty wiper switch.
  3. Faulty wiper motor.

ADJUSTABLE PARK POSITION INOPERATIVE

Check and repair the following items as necessary

  1. Faulty wiper switch.
  2. Faulty wiper angle motor.
  3. Open or shorted harness.

WASHER MOTOR INOPERATIVE

Check and repair the following items as necessary

  1. Faulty washer switch.
  2. Faulty washer motor.
  3. Open or shorted harness.

WIPERS INOPERATIVE WHEN WASHER IS ON

Check and repair the following items as necessary

  1. Faulty washer motor.
  2. Open or shorted harness.
  1. Disconnect wiper motor harness connector. Connect battery positive to wiper motor terminal No. 5. (Scheme 5) Connect battery negative to wiper motor terminal No. 4. If wiper motor operates at low speed, go to next step. If wiper motor does not operate at low speed, replace wiper motor.
  2. Connect battery positive to wiper motor terminal No. 3. (Scheme 5) Connect battery negative to wiper motor terminal No. 4. If wiper motor operates at high speed, go to next step. If wiper motor does not operate at high speed, replace wiper motor.
  3. Disconnect positive lead from wiper motor connector. With battery negative still connected to wiper motor connector terminal No. 4, connect a jumper wire between wiper motor terminals No. 1 and 5. Connect battery positive to terminal No. 2. Wiper motor should momentarily operate and then stop in park position. If operation is not as specified, replace wiper motor.
