Note. The tilt and telescopic control module may also be called the tilt and telescopic Electronic Control Unit (ECU).
Vehicles are equipped with power tilt and telescoping steering columns. Adjustment is made by moving switch located on left side of steering column. Selected movement signal is sent to tilt and telescopic ECU. ECU sends signal to either tilt or telescopic motors to adjust to selected position. A memory feature incorporates driver's seat, outside mirrors and tilt and telescoping steering wheel positions. Information is transferred by multiplex control system. See MULTIPLEX CONTROL SYSTEMS article.
Power tilt steering column also contains an automatic feature for easier vehicle exits. When key is removed from ignition, tilt and telescopic ECU will adjust column tilt fully upward and telescope fully retracted. When key is installed in ignition, previous tilt and telescopic settings will return.
Power tilt steering column system consists of key unlock warning switch, manual switch, telescopic motor and position sensor, tilt motor and position sensor and tilt and telescopic ECU. (Scheme 3)

Description
DTC B2602 sets when key unlock warning switch does not indicate key is in ignition switch when key is turned to ACC, ON or START.
DTC B2603 sets when ECU detects voltage outside specifications from manual switch.
During normal operation, mechanical limits are outside operating range. DTC B2610 sets when tilt operation stops (limit reached) while within normal operating sensor range.
During normal operation, mechanical limits are outside operating range. DTC B2611 sets when telescoping operation stops (limit reached) while within normal operating sensor range.
DTC B2620 sets when ECU detects voltage input less than 8 volts for 10 seconds or more.
DTC B2621 sets when ECU detects periodical signals from another ECU have stopped.
