PRECAUTION [06/2012 - ]

  1. PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY CABLE NOTE: When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following system(s) after the cable is reconnected: System Name See Procedure Parking Assist Monitor System Refer to «INITIALIZATION [06/2012 - ]»(ref-598449-S08309221792014021400000) Power Trunk Lid System
  2. PRECAUTION OF WASHER NOZZLE ADJUSTMENT Do not clean or adjust the washer nozzle with a safety pin, etc. because: The washer nozzle tip is made of resin and could be damaged. Adjustment is not necessary for this spray type washer nozzle. If it is necessary to change the nozzle angle, replace the washer nozzle with one that has a different nozzle angle. If the washer nozzle is clogged with wax, etc., remove it and clean the nozzle hole with a soft resin brush or other cleaning tool.

FAIL-SAFE CHART [06/2012 - ]

  1. AUTO WIPER SYSTEM The rain sensor operates in fail-safe mode if an abnormal condition such as those listed below has been detected. Item Outline Detection of abnormal high temperature The operation of the rain sensing function stops. Detection of abnormal input voltage (low input voltage) Detection of abnormal low temperature Switches to intermittent operation. Detection of abnormal output signal Detection of abnormal communication

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK OPERATION Check the operation of the front wiper and washer system. OK Front wiper and washer system operates normally. NG --> See step 4 OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY) Disconnect the A43 headlight cleaner control relay connector. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Voltage Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A43-5 (FRWA) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) Front washer switch off 11 to 14 V Engine switch on (IG) Front washer switch on Below 1 V NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK --> See step 3
