CIRCUIT DISCRETION

When the ignition switch is ON, the passenger's door ECU (power window switch) monitors the signal via the power window regulator master switch and drives the power window motor.

Note. Power window system use a large-scale body multiplex communications. First of all, confirm the communication function depending on the "how to proceed with troubleshooting", and check that there is no abnormality in the communication system. Then finally proceed with the troubleshooting. Also, if the power window system has a malfunction in the jam protection function, the power window AUTO UP/DOWN does not operate and a diagnostic code is recorded. Confirm the diagnostic code before troubleshooting.

When the ignition switch is ON, the power window regulator switch monitors the signal via the power window motor.

When the ignition switch is ON, the power window regulator master switch (driver's door ECU) send to the power window regulator switch (passenger's door ECU) for multiply a remote switch signal, and then the power window regulator switch (passenger's door ECU) drives the power window motor for the passenger. And the power window regulator master switch (driver's door ECU) send driver side J/B (body ECU) to the rear window regulator switch LH and RH for multiply a remote switch signal, and then the power window regulator switch LH drives the power window motor LH and the power window regulator switch RH drives the power window motor RH.

Note. Power window system has a function with a large-scale body multiplex communications. First of all, inspect the communication function depending on the "how to proceed with troubleshooting", and check that there is no abnormality in the communication system. Then finally proceed with the troubleshooting. Also, if the power window system has a malfunction in the jam protection function, the AUTO operations are prohibited. Because of this, confirm the diagnostic code is normal before the troubleshooting.

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION NG: GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (See «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-210389-S13676071502005122000000) ) OK: Go to next step.
  2. CHECK DTC Data list (for MANUAL UP/DOWN switch) Using the hand-held tester, check that DTC B1221 is output when the switch is operated. HINT: Using DTC "B1221" which is a code when any of the master switch is constantly turned on, the MANUAL UP/DOWN switch operation can be monitored. If there is an output of DTC "B1221" when the switch is operated, the switch circuit can be considered normal. Standard [Driver side J/B (body ECU) (Switch condition)]: STANDARD [DRIVER SIDE J/B (BODY ECU) (SWITCH CONDITION)] Item Measurement Item/Range (Display) Normal condition (Power window switch circuit on driver's door) Manual UP/DOWN switch signal/B1221 B1221: Manual UP/DOWN switch ON No output of B1221: Manual UP/DOWN switch OFF NG: REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY OK: Go to next step.
  3. CONFIRM REMOTE CONTROL POWER WINDOW BY MASTER SWITCH OPERATION HINT: When the rear door does not operate by master switch, proceed to "A". When the passenger's door does not operate by master switch, proceed to "B". B: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR MPX2 (D17-8) <==> MPX2 (F13-8) WIRE HARNESS A: Go to next step.
  4. CHECK CONTINUITY OF COMMUNICATION LINE Disconnect the B5 and B6 connectors of the driver side J/B. Disconnect the R15 power window regulator switch assy rear (LH side) connector. Disconnect the R16 power window regulator switch assy rear (RH side) connector. Check the continuity of each terminal of the disconnected connectors. Standard (Rear door LH): CONTINUITY OF EACH TERMINAL OF DISCONNECTED CONNECTORS Symbols (Terminal No.) (Driver side J/B <==> Switch) Specified condition MPX4 <==> MPX1 (B6-5 <==> R15-8) Continuity Standard (Rear door RH): CONTINUITY OF EACH TERMINAL OF DISCONNECTED CONNECTORS Symbols (Terminal No.) (Driver side J/B <==> Switch) Specified condition MPX5 <==> MPX1 (B5-1 <==> R16-8) Continuity HINT: When the rear door LH does not inspect the continuity, proceed to "NG-A". When the rear door RH does not inspect the continuity, proceed to "NG-B". NG-A: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR MPX4 (B6-5) <==> MPX1 (R15-8) WIRE HARNESS NG-B: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR MPX5 (B5-1) <==> MPX1 (R16-8) WIRE HARNESS OK: REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY

When the driver's door is held in the locking state for 2.5 seconds or more via the key operation with no key inserted in the ignition switch, the power window regulator master switch (driver's door ECU) drives the power window motor at the same time when a signal is transmitted multiply to the power window regulator switch (passenger's door ECU) and driver side J/B (body ECU). Then the power window regulator switch (passenger's door ECU) drives the power window motor, and the driver side J/B (body ECU) is transmitted multiply to the rear power window regulator switch LH and RH, then the rear power window regulator switch LH drives the power window motor LH, the rear power window regulator switch RH drives the power window motor RH.
