Intake Air Control Valve Assembly (ES300)
Note. Do not adjust adjusting screw.
- With 7.9 in. Hg (27 kPa) of vacuum applied to actuator, check that actuator rod moves. (Scheme 200)
- One minute after applying vacuum, check that actuator rod does not return.
- If operation is not as specified, replace intake air control valve assembly.

Intake Air Control Valve Assembly No. 2 (ES300)
Note. Do not adjust adjusting screw.
- With 7.9 in. Hg (27 kPa) of vacuum applied to actuator, check that actuator rod moves. (Scheme 201)
- One minute after applying vacuum, check that actuator rod does not return.
- If operation is not as specified, replace intake air control valve assembly. No. 2.

Intake Air Control Valve Assembly No. 3 (ES300)
Note. Do not adjust adjusting screw.
- With 7.9 in. Hg (27 kPa) of vacuum applied to actuator, check that actuator rod moves.
- One minute after applying vacuum, check that actuator rod does not return.
- If operation is not as specified, replace intake air control valve assembly. No. 3.
- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between each terminal. Resistance should be 37-44 ohms at 68°F (20°C). (Scheme 202)
- Check that air flows from port "E" to filter.
- Apply battery voltage across terminals.
- Check that air flows from port "E" to port "F".
- Repair or replace as necessary.
Scheme 202
Air Cleaner Cap Sub-Assembly (ES300)
- Cover port "C" with finger and check that air flows from port "B" to port "A". (Scheme 203)
- Cover port "C" with finger and check that air does not flow from port "A" to port "B".
- Cover ports "A" and "C" with fingers, apply 18 in. Hg (60 kPa) of vacuum to port "B" and check that there is not change of vacuum after one minute.
- Repair or replace as necessary.

Vacuum Switching Valve Assembly No. 1 (ES300)
- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between each terminal. Resistance should be 33-39 ohms at 68°F (20°C). (Scheme 204)
- Check that air flows from port "B" to filter.
- Apply battery voltage across terminals. Check that air flows from port "B" to port "A".
- Repair or replace as necessary.
