  1. SHIP MODE SETTING (W/ CD CHANGER) Take out all of the CDs. NOTE: If they cannot be taken out, do not attempt to take out forcibly and send the unit for repair. While simultaneously pressing the "SEEK UP" and "DISC" switches, turn the ignition switch to ACC. HINT: When the ship mode has been set, "SHIP" must be displayed. Turn the ignition switch to OFF and disconnect the battery negative terminal. NOTE: Connecting the battery negative terminal automatically finishes the ship mode.
  2. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (See «REPLACEMENT»(ref-210444-S11922720182005122100000) )
  3. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER PANEL (See «REPLACEMENT»(ref-210444-S11922720182005122100000) )
  4. SHIP MODE CONFIRMATION(W/ CD CHANGER) See the back side of the radio receiver assy and check that the window provided for mode checking is red. NOTE: If not, perform the ship mode setting again.
  5. REMOVE STEREO COMPONENT CONTROLLER ASSY Remove the 6 screws and stereo component controller assy together with the bracket. NOTE: If it has the stereo component controller assy, do not touch the front surface to prevent the damage or dirty at the LCD part and on the substrate. Do not touch on the back surface of the radio receiver panel. Do not twist the panel. Do not press strongly from the back surface. Do not remove the radio bracket for not causing the ill-fitted condition. When replacing stereo component controller assy, it must be replaced together with the radio bracket. (It is because radio bracket requires the adjustment when installing the radio receiver)
  6. INSTALL STEREO COMPONENT CONTROLLER ASSY Install the 6 screws and stereo component controller assy. NOTE: At the installation of the panel assy and the body assy, check that no gap exists between the panel assy and the body assy after tightening the screw. When replacing stereo component controller assy, it must be replaced together with the radio bracket.

  1. INSPECT WINDOW GLASS (ANTENNA WIRE) NOTE: When cleaning the glass, use a soft, dry cloth, and wiper the glass in the direction of the wire. Take care not to damage the wires. Do not use detergents or glass cleaners with abrasive ingredients. When measuring voltage, wind a piece of tin foil around the top of the negative probe and press the foil against the wire with your finger, as shown in the illustration. Inspect the continuity, at the center of each antenna wire, as shown in the illustration.
  2. REPAIR WINDOW GLASS (ANTENNA WIRE) Clean the broken wire tips with a grease, wax and silicone remover. Place the masking tape along both sides of the wire to be repaired. Thoroughly mix the repair agent (Dupont paste No. 4817). Using a fine tip brush, apply a small amount to the wire. After a few minutes, remove the masking tape. Do not repair the defogger wire for at least 24 hours.
