AXLE HUB SUB-ASSEMBLY
Note. Procedure for left and right side is the same. Figures show left side.
Disassembly
- Remove shock absorber with coil spring. See «SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING»(ref-156462-S42704469172003071700000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
- Install 2 nuts and a bolt to bracket at lower side of shock absorber with coil spring and secure in a vise.
- Using Special Tool (09727-30021), compress coil spring. (Scheme 33)
- Remove suspension support sub-assembly, suspension support bearing, coil spring upper seat, coil spring upper insulator, coil spring, spring bumper and coil spring upper insulator.
- Compress and extend shock absorber rod and verify there is no abnormal resistance or unusual sound during operation. If there is any abnormality, replace shock absorber assembly with a new one. (Scheme 34)
- To dispose of replaced shock absorber, fully extend shock absorber rod. Using a drill, make a hole in cylinder to discharge gas inside. Drill carefully as chips may fly out. Gas released is colorless, odorless, and non-poisonous.
