Intermittent & Low Position Operation
- Leave both connectors (6-pin connector and 1-pin adjustment connector) attached to wiper angle motor. Turn ignition on. Place wiper switch in INT or LOW position. Turn ignition switch to LOCK or ACC position. Disconnect 6-pin connector.
- Continuity should exist between terminals No. 1, 2 and 4 (motor half of connector). (Scheme 1) If there is continuity, check HIGH position operation. See MOTOR OPERATION heading below. If there is no continuity, check the wiper control relay circuits. Refer to «WIPER CONTROL RELAY CIRCUIT TEST»(ref-34299-S33471218482001010900000) under CIRCUIT TESTING. If circuits are okay, replace motor. If problem still exists, replace wiper control relay.
High Position Operation
- Leave both connectors (6-pin connector and 1-pin adjustment connector) attached to wiper angle motor. Turn ignition on. Place wiper switch in HIGH position. Turn ignition switch to LOCK or ACC position. Disconnect 6-pin connector.
- Continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 3 (motor half of connector). (Scheme 1) If there is continuity, check STOP position operation (next procedure). If there is no continuity, check wiper control relay circuits. See «WIPER CONTROL RELAY CIRCUIT TEST»(ref-34299-S33471218482001010900000) under CIRCUIT TESTING. If circuits are okay, replace motor. If problem still exists, replace wiper control relay.
Park Position Operation
- Leave both connectors (6-pin connector and 1-pin adjustment connector) attached to wiper angle motor. Turn ignition on. Operate motor once, and turn wiper switch to OFF position. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 6-pin connector.
- Continuity should exist between terminals No. 1, 3 and 4. (Scheme 1) If there is continuity, check motor operation (next procedure). If there is no continuity, check wiper control relay circuits. See «WIPER CONTROL RELAY CIRCUIT TEST»(ref-34299-S33471218482001010900000) under CIRCUIT TESTING. If circuits are okay, replace motor. If problem still exists, replace wiper control relay.
Motor Operation
Disconnect wiper angle motor 6-pin connector. Connect jumper wire from positive battery terminal to terminal No. 5. (Scheme 2) Ground terminal No. 6. Motor should rotate clockwise. Reverse jumper leads. Motor should rotate counterclockwise. Replace motor if it does not operate as specified.
