  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to: «Specifications»(/land-rover/range-rover-sport/i-2005-2009/remont/charging-system/#battery-and-charging-system-general-information__specifications) information.
  2. Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to: «Engine Cover V8 S/C 4.2L Petrol»(/land-rover/range-rover-sport/i-2005-2009/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-trim-and-omamentation) information.
  3. Disconnect fuel line from the fuel rail. Position an absorbent cloth to collect fluid spillage.
  4. Connect the fuel line to the fuel rail. Clean the component mating faces.

  3. Using the special tool, disconnect the fuel line. Release the clip. Position an absorbent cloth to collect fluid spillage.
  4. Connect the fuel line to the fuel rail. Clean the component mating faces. Secure the clip.

  2. Depressurize the fuel rail. For additional information, refer to: «Fuel System Pressure Release - V8 S/C 4.2L Petrol»(/land-rover/range-rover-sport/i-2005-2009/remont/fuel-system/#fuel-system-general-information__fuel-system-pressure-release-v8-sc) .
  3. Connect the special tool. Connect to the fuel rail. Connect to the fuel line. Remove the schraeder valve dust cap.
  4. Connect the special tool. Connect the schraeder valve and gauge.
  5. Start and run the engine. Open the valve on the special tool. Note the fuel pressure readings.0
  6. For fuel pressure data, refer to «Specifications»(/land-rover/range-rover-sport/i-2005-2009/remont/mechanical/#engine-v8-sc-42l-petrol__specifications) .
  7. Close the special tool valve.
  8. Remove the special tool. Position an absorbent cloth to collect fluid spillage. Disconnect the special tool from the Schraeder valve.
  9. Remove the special tool. Position an absorbent cloth to collect fluid spillage. Disconnect the special tool from the fuel rail. Use the special tool. Disconnect the special tool from the fuel line. Use the special tool.
  10. Install the schraeder valve dust cap to the special tool.
  11. Connect the fuel line. For additional information, refer to: «Fuel System Pressure Release - V8 S/C 4.2L Petrol»(/land-rover/range-rover-sport/i-2005-2009/remont/fuel-system/#fuel-system-general-information__fuel-system-pressure-release-v8-sc) .
  12. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to: «Specifications»(/land-rover/range-rover-sport/i-2005-2009/remont/charging-system/#battery-and-charging-system-general-information__specifications) information.

FUEL TANK DRAINING

WARNINGPlace the vehicle in a well ventilated, quarantined area and arrange ' No Smoking/Petrol Fumes' signs about the vehicle.
WARNINGDo not carry or operate cellular phones when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable vapors are always present and may ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

WARNINGThe spilling of fuel is unavoidable during this operation. Ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to prevent fire and explosion.
CAUTIONBefore disconnecting or removing components, ensure the area around the joint faces and connections are clean. Plug open connections to prevent contamination.
  1. Open the fuel filler door and remove the cap.
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to: «Specifications»(/land-rover/range-rover-sport/i-2005-2009/remont/charging-system/#battery-and-charging-system-general-information__specifications) information.
  3. Connect the fuel tank drain equipment ground cable to the vehicle.
  4. Remove the fuel from the fuel tank, via the filler neck, using the fuel tank draining equipment. Follow the manufacturer's operating instructions.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
