  3. Remove the driver lower air bag module support bracket. Torque: 7 Nm

  2. If a new component has been installed, configure using Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment.

  3. Torque: 10 Nm

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-531959-S27829531522013022000000) .
  2. Recover the A/C refrigerant. Refer to «AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING»(ref-531982-S38456719582013022000000) .
  3. Remove the plenum chamber panel. See «PLENUM CHAMBER»(ref-531912-S40693108652013022000000) .
  4. Torque: 9 Nm

Note. The removal of this component involves cutting an aperture in the evaporator housing wall and cutting through the high and low pressure A/C lines. A service repair kit is supplied to cover this procedure.

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-531959-S27829531522013022000000) .
  2. Recover the A/C refrigerant. Refer to «AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING»(ref-531982-S38456719582013022000000) .
  3. Remove the plenum chamber panel. See «PLENUM CHAMBER»(ref-531912-S40693108652013022000000) .
  4. If installed, remove the anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery.
  5. Disconnect the A/C pipes from the TXV.
  6. Remove the RH floor console extension.
  7. Remove the glove compartment. Refer to «GLOVE COMPARTMENT»(ref-531962-S10250369972013022000000) .
  8. Remove the CJB bracket.
  9. Remove the 3 spring clips. Release the 4 plastic clips.
  10. Remove the lower cover. Position the upper cover aside for access.
  11. Cut the A/C pipes at the marked position.
  12. Guide the cut evaporator pipes through the bulkhead so that approximately 20mm is visible in the engine compartment.
  13. Remove the evaporator pipes.
  14. Remove the evaporator core.
  15. Remove any debris from the heater core and evaporator core housing.

  1. Apply the foam strips from the service kit to the evaporator core.
  2. Install the evaporator core.
  3. Install the service door. Secure the 4 clips. Install the 4 screws.
  4. Install the pollen filter cover.
  5. Apply the asphalt tape from the service kit to the service replacement evaporator pipes.
  6. Remove the TXV assembly from the service replacement evaporator pipes.
  7. Guide the service replacement evaporator pipes through the bulkhead so that approximately 20mm is visible in the engine compartment.
  8. Install the TXV captive clamping plate.
  9. Install the service replacement evaporator pipes to the evaporator. Torque: 5 Nm
  10. Install the CJB bracket. Torque: 10 Nm
  11. Secure the wiring harnesses to the CJB bracket.
  12. Install the CJB.
  13. Connect the 5 electrical connectors to the CJB and secure the front carpet.
  14. Install the CJB lower access cover.
  15. Install the passenger side footwell duct.
  16. Install the glove compartment. Refer to «GLOVE COMPARTMENT»(ref-531962-S10250369972013022000000) .
  17. Install the RH floor console extension.
  18. Install the TXV assembly. Torque: 4 Nm
  19. Connect the A/C pipes to the TXV and tighten the M6 nut. Torque: 9 Nm
  20. Install the anti-theft alarm horn with integral battery.
  21. Install the plenum chamber panel. See «PLENUM CHAMBER»(ref-531912-S40693108652013022000000) .
  22. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to «AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING»(ref-531982-S38456719582013022000000) .
  23. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-531959-S27829531522013022000000) .

  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to «COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING»(ref-531918-S31491615612013022000000) .
  3. Remove the selector lever. Refer to «SELECTOR LEVER»(ref-531944-S07144783472013022000000) .
  4. Remove the cowl side trim panel. Refer to «COWL SIDE TRIM PANEL»(ref-531951-S35657098132013022000000) .
  5. Torque: 6 Nm
  6. See figure CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.

  1. Remove the cover and disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-531959-S27829531522013022000000) .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Recover the A/C refrigerant. Refer to «AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING»(ref-531982-S38456719582013022000000) .
  4. Remove the front bumper. Refer to «FRONT BUMPER»(ref-531966) .
  5. Remove the radiator air deflector.
  6. Release power steering cooler and secure aside.
  7. Disconnect the A/C condenser refrigerant lines.
  8. Remove the A/C condenser.
  1. Install the A/C condenser, and tighten the bolt. Torque: 10 Nm
  2. Connect the A/C condenser refrigerant lines, tighten the bolts. Torque: 10 Nm
  3. Install the PAS cooler and tighten the bolts. Torque: 10 Nm
  4. Install the air deflector.
  5. Install the front bumper. Refer to «FRONT BUMPER»(ref-531966) .
  6. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to «AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING»(ref-531982-S38456719582013022000000) .
  7. Connect the battery ground cable and install the cover. Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-531959-S27829531522013022000000) .

  1. Remove the cover and disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-531959-S27829531522013022000000) .
  2. Recover the air conditioning (A/C) refrigerant. Refer to «AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING»(ref-531982-S38456719582013022000000) .
  3. Remove the engine cover. Refer to «ENGINE COVER - 3.2L»(ref-531951-S06303498242013022000000) .
  4. Remove the battery tray. Refer to «BATTERY TRAY»(ref-531940-S37654936752013022000000) .
  5. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to «AIR CLEANER»(ref-531922-S17101109672013022000000) .
  6. Remove the A/C compressor, upper support bracket.
  7. Remove the A/C compressor, lower support bracket.
  8. Using suitable tools, release the accessory drive belt tension.
  9. Disconnect the A/C compressor refrigerant lines.
  10. Remove the A/C compressor.
  1. Install the A/C compressor. Torque: 25 Nm
  2. Connect the A/C compressor refrigerant lines. Torque: 24 Nm
  3. Install the accessory drive belt.
  4. Install the A/C compressor, lower support bracket. Torque: 25 Nm
  5. Install the A/C compressor, upper support bracket. Torques: M10: 45 Nm M8: 25 Nm M6: 10 Nm
  6. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to «AIR CLEANER»(ref-531922-S17101109672013022000000) .
  7. Install the battery tray. Refer to «BATTERY TRAY»(ref-531940-S37654936752013022000000) .
  8. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to «AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING»(ref-531982-S38456719582013022000000) .
  9. Install the engine cover. Refer to «ENGINE COVER - 3.2L»(ref-531951-S06303498242013022000000) .
  10. Connect the battery ground cable and install the cover. Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-531959-S27829531522013022000000) .

  1. Make the SRS system safe.
  2. Remove the instrument panel. Refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL - 2.2L DIESEL»(ref-531962) . Refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL - 3.2L»(ref-531962-S07436042802013022000000) .
  3. Remove the clockspring. Refer to «CLOCKSPRING»(ref-531958-S14768141612013022000000) .
  4. Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to «INSTRUMENT CLUSTER»(ref-531956-S05715501572013022000000) .
  5. Disconnect the keyless start module electrical connector.
  6. Disconnect the in-vehicle temperature sensor.
  7. Remove both upper trim panels.
  8. Remove both instrument panel speakers.
  9. Remove the video display. Refer to «VIDEO DISPLAY»(ref-531969-S18684391542013022000000) .
  10. Remove the center speaker.
  11. Remove the audio unit.
  12. Remove the climate control assembly.
  13. Remove the passenger side instrument panel end trim panel.
  14. Remove the glove compartment. Refer to «GLOVE COMPARTMENT»(ref-531962-S10250369972013022000000) .
  15. Release the wiring harness from the instrument panel upper section.
  16. With assistance, remove the instrument panel upper section.
  17. Remove both front footwell ducts.
  18. Disconnect the wiring harness from the heater core and evaporator core housing.
  19. Disconnect the electric booster heater core.
  20. Remove the heater core and evaporator core housing.
  1. Install the heater core and evaporator core housing. Torque: 7 Nm
  2. Install the electric booster heater assembly.
  3. Connect the electric booster heater core.
  4. Connect the wiring harness to the heater and evaporator core housing.
  5. Install both front footwell ducts.
  6. With assistance, install the instrument panel upper section.
  7. Install the passenger air bag module support bracket bolts. Torque: 10 Nm
  8. Secure the wiring harness to the instrument panel upper section.
  9. Connect the passenger air bag module electrical connectors.
  10. Install the glove compartment. Refer to «GLOVE COMPARTMENT»(ref-531962-S10250369972013022000000) .
  11. Install the passenger side instrument panel end trim panel.
  12. Secure the wiring harness support bracket.
  13. Install the climate control assembly.
  14. Install the audio unit.
  15. Install the center speaker.
  16. Install the video display. Refer to «VIDEO DISPLAY»(ref-531969-S18684391542013022000000) .
  17. Install both instrument panel speakers.
  18. Install both upper trim panels.
  19. Connect the in-vehicle temperature sensor electrical connector.
  20. Connect the keyless start module electrical connector.
  21. Install the instrument cluster. Refer to «INSTRUMENT CLUSTER»(ref-531956-S05715501572013022000000) .
  22. Install the clockspring. Refer to «CLOCKSPRING»(ref-531958-S14768141612013022000000) .
  23. Install the instrument panel. Refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL - 2.2L DIESEL»(ref-531962) . Refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL - 3.2L»(ref-531962-S07436042802013022000000) .
  24. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to «SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-531959-S27829531522013022000000) .
  25. Return the steering column to its original position.
