REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
| WARNING | Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in RESTRAINTS. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy. |
Removal
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove door trim by removing speaker garnish. Remove door handle cover, screw and cover. Remove door handle pull screw and door handle. Remove caps and screw located on left side of door trim. Unfasten and lift door trim. Remove door trim and disconnect power window switch connector.
- Remove pull handle bracket and door speaker. Carefully peel back plastic water shield. Temporarily reconnect window switch and negative battery cable. Turn ignition switch to ON position and lower window about halfway. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove 2 glass-mounting bolts from window regulator.
- Remove window glass carefully by tilting it toward hinge side of door and removing from outer side of door frame. Disconnect power window motor harness connector. Remove regulator-to-door frame nuts. Remove window motor regulator assembly from access hole in door. Unbolt and remove glass guide and bolt.
Installation
- Install glass guide and one bolt loosely. Install window motor regulator assembly through access hole in door. Tighten regulator mounting nuts to 80-115 INCH lbs. (9-13 N.m). Reconnect window motor harness connector.
- Install window glass by tilting toward hinge side of door. Place glass on small bracket on window regulator. Loosely install 2 window-to-regulator bolts. Reconnect window switch and negative battery cable.
- Turn ignition on and operate window up and down to ensure correct operation. Tighten window-to-regulator bolts to 18-27 INCH lbs. (2-3 N.m). Tighten glass guide bolt to 80-115 INCH lbs. (9-13 N.m). To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
Disconnect negative battery cable. Release clips or remove screws retaining switch panel to armrest. Remove switch panel from armrest. Disconnect harness connectors. Remove window switch from switch panel. To install, reverse removal procedure.
