MONITOR SCAN TOOL DATA
- Connect scan tool to data link connector (DLC).
- Ignition "ON".
- Confirm the "ROM I.D".
- Perform the "ROM UP-DATE".
- Perform the Re-diagnosis.
- Is "DTC" disappeared? YES Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or PCM/TCM's connector or was repaired and PCM/TCM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to " «VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR»(ref-270461-S39770201382007110600000) " procedure. NO Replace PCM/TCM as necessary and then go to " «VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR»(ref-270461-S39770201382007110600000) " procedure.
| Item | Detecting Condition | Possible cause |
|---|---|---|
| DTC Strategy | Check for no signal | Open or short in circuit Faulty TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH Faulty TCM (PCM) |
| Enable Conditions | Engine Speed > or = 500 RPM Battery Voltage > or = 10V | |
| Threshold Value | No signal detected | |
| Diagnostic Time | More than 25 sees | |
| Fail Safe | Recognition as previous signal. When P-D or R-D or D-R SHIFT is detected, it is regarded as N-D or N-R though "N" signal is not detected When sports mode S/W is ON without P, R, N, D-RANGE signals, it is regarded sports mode. (DTC is not set) |

- Connect scan tool to data link connector (DLC).
- Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
- Monitor the "TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH" parameter on the scan tool.
- Move selector lever from "P" range to "L" range.
- Does "TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH" follow the reference data? YES Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or TCM (PCM)'s connector or was repaired and TCM (PCM) memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to " «VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR»(ref-270461-S30413149922007110600000) " procedure. NO Go to " «TERMINAL & CONNECTOR INSPECTION»(ref-270461-S36376397772007110600000) " procedure.
