Check for continuity between the terminals.

  1. There should be continuity between the No.1 and No.2 terminals when power and ground are connected to the No.3 and No.4 terminals.
  2. There should be no continuity between the No.1 and No.2 terminals when power is disconnected.

Check for continuity between the terminals.

  1. There should be continuity between the No.1 and No.2 terminals when power and ground are connected to the No.3 and No.5 terminals.
  2. There should be continuity between the No.1 and No.4 terminals when power is disconnected.

  1. There should be continuity between the No.1 and No.4 terminals when power and ground are connected to the No.2 and No.3 terminals.
  2. There should be no continuity between the No.1 and No.4 terminals when power is disconnected.
  1. Be sure there is no play in the fuse holders, and that the fuses are held securely.
  2. Are the fuse capacities for each circuit correct?
  3. Are there any blown fuses? If a fuse is to be replaced, be sure to use a new fuse of the same capacity. Always determine why the fuse blew first and completely eliminate the problem before installing a new fuse.

IDENTIFYING FUSES (PASSENGER COMPARTMENT FUSE BOX)

Memory Fuse

This vehicle is equipped with a memory fuse to prevent battery discharge if the vehicle is parked without being operated for prolonged periods. Use the following procedures before parking the vehicle for prolonged period.

  1. Turn off the engine.
  2. Turn off the headlights and tail lights.
  3. Open the passenger room fuse box cover and pull up the MULT B/UP 10A / AUDIO 15A combined holder fuses 30 and 31. (Scheme 12)

Note. If the memory fuse is pulled up from the fuse panel, the warning chime, audio, clock and interior lamps, etc., will not operate. Some items must be reset after fuse replacement. Even though the memory fuse is pulled up, the battery can still be discharged by operation of the headlights or other electrical devices.

Check for continuity between the terminals.

  1. There should be continuity between the No.1 and No.2 terminals when power and ground are connected to the No.3 and No.4 terminals.
  2. There should be no continuity between the No.1 and No.2 terminals when power is disconnected.

  1. There should be continuity between the No.1 and No.2 terminals when power and ground are connected to the No.3 and No.5 terminals.

  1. There should be continuity between the No.1 and No.4 terminals when power and ground are connected to the No.2 and No.3 terminals.
  2. There should be no continuity between the No.1 and No.4 terminals when power is disconnected.

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the crash pad lower panel (A) (Refer to «INTERIOR»(ref-269624) - crash pad ). Avoid damaging retaining clips (B).
  3. Disconnect the connectors of junction box and loosen the ground cable (A).
  4. Remove the junction box (B) after loosening the mounting nuts (2EA).
  5. Installation is the reverse of removal procedures.

HAZARD LAMP RELAY

Check for continuity between the terminals.

  1. There should be continuity between the No.8 and No.6 terminals when power and ground are connected to the No.8 and No.9 terminals.
  2. There should be no continuity between the No.8 and No.6 terminals when power is disconnected.

BURGLAR ALARM HORN

Check for continuity between the terminals.

  1. There should be continuity between the No. 11 and No.4 terminals when power and ground are connected to the No.11 and No.3 terminals.
  2. There should be no continuity between the No. 11 and No.4 terminals when power is disconnected.

BURGLAR ALARM

Check for continuity between the terminals.

  1. There should be no continuity between the No.1 and No.5 terminals when power and ground are connected to the No.1 and No.2 terminals.
  2. There should be continuity between the No.1 and No.5 terminals when power is disconnected.
