Power Seats: Overview Kia Optima I

DESCRIPTION & OPERATION

The driver's seat can be adjusted by using the control knob on the left side of the seat. Power seat is operable with ignition in the OFF position. Move the front portion of the control knob up to raise or down to lower the front part of the seat cushion. Move the rear portion of the control knob up to raise or down to lower the rear part of the seat cushion. Pull the control knob forward or backward to move the seat to the desired position. Rotate the upper portion of the control knob forward or backward to recline the seatback to the desired position. Release the control knob and the seatback will lock in position.

Scheme 1

1. Disconnect the connectors for each motor. (Scheme 1): Disconnecting Connectors
2. When the battery connected directly to the motor terminals, check if the motors run smoothly.
3. Reverse the connections and check that the motor reversely turns.
4. It is an abnormality, replace the motors.
