- CHECK FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION Turn the ignition on and open one of the front doors. NOTE: A front door must remain open whenever checking or erasing Amplifier DTCs. Using the scan tool, record and erase the Amplifier DTCs. Cycle the ignition switch from on to off, wait five seconds and then back to on. Turn the Radio on and set the volume to 25. Adjust the speakers to the front and center. Using the scan tool, read the active Amplifier DTCs. Does the scan tool display active: B1461-CHANNEL 1 AUDIO SPEAKER OUTPUT CIRCUIT LOW? Yes Go To 2 . No Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
- LEFT INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) SPEAKER With the scan tool, erase the DTCs. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Left Instrument Panel Speaker harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Turn the radio on and set the volume to 25. Adjust the speakers to the front and center. With the scan tool, read the active Amplifier DTCs. Does the scan tool display active: B1461-CHANNEL 1 AUDIO SPEAKER OUTPUT CIRCUIT LOW? Yes Go To 3 . No Replace the Left Instrument Panel Speaker in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
- CHECK THE (X209) LEFT I/P SPEAKER (+) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Amplifier C1 harness connector. Measure the resistance between ground and the (X209) Left I/P Speaker (+) circuit in the Amplifier C1 connector. Is the resistance below 10K Ohms? Yes Repair the (X209) Left I/P Speaker (+) circuit for a short to ground. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Go To 4 .
- CHECK THE (X299) LEFT I/P SPEAKER (-) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND Measure the resistance between ground and the (X299) Left I/P Speaker (-) circuit in the Amplifier C1 connector. Is the resistance below 10K Ohms? Yes Repair the (X299) Left I/P Speaker (-) circuit for a short to ground. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Replace the Amplifier in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.

The Amplifier detects a short to battery condition on the speaker output circuit.

Measure the voltage between the (X209) Left I/P Speaker (+) circuit and ground. Is there any voltage present? Yes Repair the (X209) Left I/P Speaker (+) circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Go To 3 .
- CHECK FOR VOLTAGE ON THE (X299) LEFT I/P SPEAKER (-) CIRCUIT Measure the voltage between the (X299) Left I/P Speaker (-) circuit and ground. Is there any voltage present? Yes Repair the (X299) Left I/P Speaker (-) circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. - CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE LEFT I/P SPEAKER Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Left I/P Speaker harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Turn the Radio on and turn the volume to mid level. Adjust the speakers to the front and center. With a voltmeter set to read in A/C voltage, measure the voltage of the Left I/P Speaker circuits in the Left Front I/P Speaker harness connector. Is the voltage present greater than 1 volt? Yes Replace the Left I/P Speaker in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Go To 3 .
- CHECK THE (X209) LEFT I/P SPEAKER (+) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Amplifier C1 harness connector. Measure the resistance of the (X209) Left I/P Speaker (+) circuit between the Amplifier C1 harness connector and the Left I/P Speaker harness connector. Is the resistance below 2.0 Ohms? Yes Go To 4 . No Repair the (X209) Left I/P Speaker (+) circuit for an open. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
- CHECK THE (X299) LEFT I/P SPEAKER (-) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance of the (X299) Left I/P Speaker (-) circuit between the Amplifier C1 harness connector and the Left I/P Speaker harness connector. Is the resistance below 2.0 Ohms? Yes Replace the Amplifier in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Repair the (X299) Left I/P Speaker (-) circuit for an open. - CHECK THE (X209) AMPLIFIED LEFT I/P SPEAKER (+) CIRCUIT, AND THE (X299) AMPLIFIED LEFT I/P SPEAKER (-) CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TOGETHER Disconnect the Amplifier C1 harness connector. Does the scan tool display active: B146B-CHANNEL 3 AUDIO SPEAKER OUTPUT CIRCUIT LOW? Yes Go To 3 . No Replace the Amplified Left Front Door Speaker in accordance with the Service Information. Yes Repair the (X212) Amplified Liftgate Speaker 2 (+) circuit, and the (X282) Amplified Liftgate Speaker 2 (-) circuit for a short together. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Replace the Amplifier in accordance with the Service Information. - TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Cycle the ignition from on to off 3 times. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Does the scan tool display: U0019-CAN B BUS CIRCUIT? Yes Go To 2 . No The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
- CHECK TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE DTCs With the scan tool, read Totally Integrated Power Module DTCs Does the scan tool display any CAN B BUS DTCs - ACTIVE? Yes Refer to «Diagnosis and Testing»(ref-462530-S10097045382012040500000) and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. No Go To 3 .
- CAN B BUS (+) CIRCUIT OPEN Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Amplifier C1 harness connector. Disconnect the Totally Integrated Power Module C3 harness connector. Measure the resistance of the (D55) CAN B BUS (+) circuit between the Totally Integrated Power Module C3 harness connector and the Amplifier C1 harness connector. Is the resistance below 2.0 Ohms? Yes Go To 4 . No Repair the CAN B BUS (+) circuit for an open. Refer to «Standard Procedure»(ref-462532-S10454917552012040500000) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
