DETONATION RETARD OPERATION (4.0L)

Knock sensor is located on left side of the engine block, above the oil pan. Sensor sends input signal to ECU when it detects detonation (knocking) during engine operation. To eliminate detonation condition, ECU retards the ignition advance.
