DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
Both door mirrors are adjusted from the driver's door armrest switch pack using the 4-way button/joystick and the 3-position selector switch. Left mirror is selected by moving selector switch far left. Right mirror is selected by moving selector far right. The center position inhibits toggle switch control. After selecting mirror to be adjusted, move 4-way button/joystick left, right, up or down as necessary.
To furnish driver a clear view of curb while backing, the passenger's mirror dips when Reverse gear is selected. The dipped position holds until Reverse gear is deselected, then the mirror returns to its original position. When Reverse dip feature is selected, all other operations of the mirror switch are inhibited.
All XK8 models are also equipped with exterior rear view mirror electrochromatic tint. The exterior mirrors will darken with the selected interior tint setting. External mirrors are also equipped with heating elements that operate with the rear window defrost selection.
On XK8 models, an external mirror fold-back option is available on some models. The rear view mirrors can be selected to fold inward to allow clearance for confined spaces. Fold-back selection will only occur if vehicle speed is less than 12 MPH (19 KM/H). Loss of vehicle power will lose mirror fold-back memory.
