  1. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector. Disconnect the passive anti-theft system transceiver electrical connector. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
  2. Reposition the steering column wiring harness bracket. Remove the steering column wiring harness bracket retaining screw.
  3. Disconnect the steering wheel rotation sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove and discard the steering column lower retaining bolt.
  5. Remove the steering column. Remove the steering column retaining bolts. Remove the steering column.

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  2. Tighten in the sequence shown. Tighten to 24 N.m.
  3. Install a new bolt. Tighten to 25 N.m.

  1. Remove and discard the steering column lower retaining bolt.
  2. Remove the steering column coupling.

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten to 25 N.m.
  2. Install a new bolt. Tighten to 25 N.m.

  1. Position the front wheels in a straight ahead position and centralize steering wheel.

  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the steering wheel.
  5. Using suitable insulation/masking tape, secure the clockspring to prevent movement from the centralized position.
