Scheme 1: SERVICE INDICATOR & WARNING LIGHTS

COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE

Pointer should remain in the White (Normal) range. If gauge registers at the Red (Hot) end, stop vehicle immediately and let engine cool. Check engine coolant level.

OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT

If light glows during operation, oil level is low or there is low oil pressure. If this occurs, stop vehicle immediately and check oil level. If oil level is normal, have the lubricating system serviced as soon as possible.

CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT

Light indicates a problem with the electrical charging system. If light comes on while driving, stop vehicle and check alternator belt. If belt has proper tension and light remains on, have system serviced as soon as possible.

"BRAKE" WARNING LIGHT

If light comes on while driving, it indicates that either the parking brake is on or the brake fluid level is low.

"CHECK ENGINE" WARNING LIGHT

If light comes on either intermittently or continuously while driving, it indicates a problem with the emission control system. Have the system serviced as soon as possible.

HEADLIGHT LID MONITOR LIGHT

Indicates operation of the headlight lid. If light remains on, there may be a problem with the headlight lid drive motor. If this occurs, remove the headlight lid fuse within the engine compartment immediately and have the system serviced as soon as possible.

SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (AIR BAG) INDICATOR LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)

When key is turned to the ON position, indicator will light for about 6 seconds to show normal operation. The following components are monitored by the diagnostics: right dash sensor, left dash sensor, SRS control unit, air bag activator and all related wiring. A malfunction is shown by flashing or flickering of indicator light, failure to illuminate when ignition switch is turned on, continuous illumination or illumination while driving.
