Scheme 1: SERVICE INDICATOR & WARNING LIGHTS

COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE

Pointer should remain in the White (Normal) range. If gauge registers at the Red (Hot) end, stop vehicle immediately and let engine cool. Check engine coolant level.

OIL PRESSURE GAUGE

Indicates engine oil pressure. Pointer should remain within White range. If the oil pressure indication is too high or too low and will not increase when engine speed is increased, stop the vehicle immediately and check the oil level.

OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT

This light will flash to indicate a very low lubricant level which is barely sufficient for proper lubrication. If light glows during operation, oil level is low or there is low oil pressure. If this occurs, stop the vehicle immediately and check oil level. If oil level is normal, have the lubricating system serviced as soon as possible.

VOLTMETER

Indicates battery voltage. Needle should remain within the White range. If needle fails to indicate the proper voltage, have electrical system serviced as soon as possible.

CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT

Light indicates a problem with the electrical charging system. If light comes on while driving, stop vehicle and check alternator belt. If belt has proper tension and light remains on, have system serviced as soon as possible.

"BRAKE" WARNING LIGHT

If light comes on while driving, it indicates that either the parking brake is on or the brake fluid level is low.

"CHECK ENGINE" WARNING LIGHT

If light comes on and remains on while driving, it indicates a possible malfunction in the I-TEC system. Have the system serviced as soon as possible.

HEADLIGHT LID MONITOR LIGHT

Indicates operation of the headlight lid. If light remains on, there may be a problem with the headlight lid drive motor. If this occurs, remove the headlight lid relay ("H.L. Cover" relay in fuse block) immediately and have the system serviced as soon as possible.

STOPLIGHT INDICATOR LIGHT

If light comes on when brake pedal is depressed, it indicates a faulty stoplight. Repair or replace as soon as possible.

TURBOCHARGER BOOST LIGHT

Light will glow when proper engine turbocharger pressure has been reached and turbocharger is producing an increase in pressure in the intake system.
