Check brush length. If length is less than specification, replace brushes. See MINIMUM BRUSH LENGTH SPECIFICATIONS table. Check condition of brush holders, springs, spring clip, and insulation between positive and negative brush holders. Repair or replace if necessary. Use DVOM and check for continuity between brush holder and base. If continuity is indicated, replace brush holder.
