REMOVAL

Note. The viscous paper type filter does not need cleaning between replacement intervals. Replace the air filter as necessary for periodic maintenance. Refer to the following table

  1. Unhook clips, and lift air cleaner case (upper).
  2. Remove air cleaner filter from air cleaner case.

INSTALLATION

Install is the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove front under cover.
  2. Drain engine oil. Refer to " «DRAINING»(ref-618049-S34982655492014052700000) ".
  3. Remove oil filter using oil filter wrench [SST: KV10115801 (J-38956)].
WARNINGBe careful not to burn yourself, as the engine and engine oil may be hot.
CAUTIONThe oil filter is equipped with a pressure relief valve. Use Genuine NISSAN oil filter or equivalent. When removing, prepare a shop cloth to absorb any engine oil leaks or spills. Do not allow engine oil to contact the drive belts. Completely wipe off any engine oil that contacts the engine and the vehicle.

  1. Remove foreign materials from the oil filter seal mating surface.
  2. Apply clean engine oil to the oil filter seal circumference of the new oil filter as shown below.
  3. Screw on the oil filter manually until it touches the installation surface, then tighten it by 2/3 turn as shown below. Or tighten to specification. Oil filter: 17.7 N.m (1.8 kg-m, 13 ft-lb)
  4. Refill engine with new engine oil. Refer to " «REFILLING»(ref-618049-S06329943852014052700000) ".
  5. Inspect engine for oil leaks. Refer to " «INSPECTION»(ref-618049-S40542039012014052700000) ".
  6. Install front under cover.
  1. Remove engine cover. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-618039-S29844956622014052700000) ".
  2. Remove ignition coil. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-618039-S41509091952014052700000) ".
  3. Remove spark plug with a spark plug wrench (commercial service tool).

Note the following item, installation is the reverse order of removal.

CAUTIONInstall ignition coil marked with an identification mark (A) on cylinder No. 5, 6, 7 and 8.
