DESCRIPTION & OPERATION

Power windows are operated by main switches of driver's door master control panel, or by individual sub-switch for each passenger window. Main switch controls driver's window, and can control all passenger window motor operation. Individual sub-switches at each passenger door control the window for that door. Main switch incorporates a window lock-out feature which can disable all passenger window operation. Automatic function is for driver's window only, and lowers window when driver window main switch is depressed (not held) and released. Window may not be stopped during automatic function.

Power is supplied at all times from fusible link through a circuit breaker to power window relay. (Scheme 1) With ignition switch in ON or START position, power window relay is energized from fuse No. 11 (7.5-amp). When relay is energized, power is supplied to power window main switch terminal No. 1 (White wire) and all sub-switches terminal No. 5 (White wire), and is available for window motors by completing ground circuit. Power window motor operation is controlled by applying ground from main switch, through sub-switch (except driver's window) to power window motor. Power window lock switch disconnects all sub-switch ground circuits through the main switch, preventing passenger window motors from operating.
