Power Windows: Other Infiniti J30 I

WINDOWS DO NOT OPERATE FROM DRIVER'S OR PASSENGER'S SWITCH

Check all power and ground circuits for continuity. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS.

WINDOWS DO NOT OPERATE WITH PASSENGER'S SWITCH

Check power and ground circuits to power window amplifier. Check for power from ignition switch at driver's switch. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS.

DRIVER'S WINDOW DOES NOT OPERATE; OTHERS OKAY

Test driver's switch. Check wiring to driver's window motor. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS. Test driver's window motor.

WINDOWS OPERATE FROM PASSENGER'S SWITCHES ONLY

Test driver's switch. Check wiring between driver's switch and passenger's switches. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS.

Driver's Switch

If power windows can be operated by passenger switches, but not from driver's switch, check all wiring associated with driver's switch. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS. If wiring is okay, temporarily substitute known good driver's switch. Retest system.

Passenger's Switches

1. Unplug connector from switch. With switch in UP position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 32 and 35. (Scheme 1) Continuity should not exist with switch in any other position.
2. With switch in DOWN position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 35 and 36. Continuity should not exist with switch in any other position. Replace switch if continuity is not as specified.

Identifying Passenger's Power Window Switch Terminals (J30). Scheme 1

Rear Left Hand Passenger's Switch

1. Unplug switch connector. With switch in UP position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 3. continuity should not exist with switch released.
2. With switch in DOWN position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 2. Continuity should not exist with switch released. Replace switch if continuity is not as specified.
