Fuel Pump Control System Wiring (J30)

  1. Unplug fuel pump relay. Turn ignition switch on. Check for battery voltage at fuel pump relay connector terminals No. 2 (Red/Green wire) and No. 3 (Light Green wire). see scheme 5 If battery voltage is present at terminals No. 2 and 3, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check wiring connectors, 7.5-amp fuse in interior fuse box and 15-amp fuse in relay block.
  2. Disconnect fuel pump harness connector. Check continuity of Yellow/Black wire between fuel pump relay and fuel pump. Check continuity of Black/Red wire between fuel pump relay and ECM connector terminal No. 18. (Scheme 11)or (Scheme 12). Repair wiring as necessary.
  3. If no faults are found in wiring, test fuel pump relay. See «RELAYS»(ref-17411-S32154061192000122900000) under RELAYS & SOLENOIDS. Also test fuel pump and inspect ECM connector pin terminals.

Fuel Pump Control System Wiring (Q45)

  1. Unplug fuel pump relay. Turn ignition switch on. Check for battery voltage at fuel pump relay connector terminals No. 1 (Blue/Black wire) and No. 5 (Black/White wire). see scheme 7 If battery voltage is present at terminals No. 1 and 5, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check wiring connectors and 15-amp fuse in relay block.
  2. Disconnect fuel pump harness connector and fuel pump control unit harness connector. Check continuity of Orange/Blue wire between fuel pump relay, fuel pump and fuel pump control unit. Check continuity of Green/Orange wire between fuel pump control unit and ECM connector terminal No. 6. (Scheme 11)or (Scheme 12). Check continuity of Pink/Black wire between fuel pump relay and ECM connector terminal No. 18. Check continuity of Pink/Blue wire between fuel pump control unit and ECM connector terminal No. 19. Repair wiring as necessary.
  3. If no faults are found in wiring, test fuel pump relay. See «RELAYS»(ref-17411-S32154061192000122900000) under RELAYS & SOLENOIDS. Also test fuel pump, fuel pump control unit and inspect ECM connector pin terminals.
