WORK FLOW

  1. Check the symptom and customer's requests.
  2. Understand the system description. Refer to «SYSTEM DESCRIPTION»(ref-179055-S02118095172005062900000) .
  3. Perform the preliminary check, refer to «PRELIMINARY CHECK»(ref-179055-S16450528982005062900000) .
  4. Perform the CAN communication inspection using CONSULT-II, refer to «CONSULT-II Function»(ref-179055-S04769208332005062900000) .
  5. Perform the self-diagnosis. Refer to «CAN COMMUNICATION INSPECTION USING CONSULT-II (SELF-DIAGNOSIS)»(ref-179055-S30369822412005062900000) .
  6. Repair or replace depending on the self-diagnostic results.
  7. Based on the trouble diagnosis chart, repair or replace the cause of the malfunction. Refer to «SYMPTOM CHART»(ref-179055-S03772578992005062900000) .
  8. Does the automatic drive positioner system operate normally? If it is normal, GO TO STEP 8 . If it is not normal, GO TO STEP 3 .
  9. INSPECTION END

Setting Change Function

The settings of the automatic driving positioner system can be changed, using CONSULT-II and the display unit in the center of the instrument panel.

  1. Check fuse . Check if any of the following fuses in the BCM are blown. Check 50A fusible link (letter M , located in the fuse and fusible link box.) Check 15A fuse [No. 22, located in the fuse block (J/B)] Check 10A fuse [No. 1, located in the fuse block (J/B)] Check 10A fuse [No. 6, located in the fuse block (J/B)] NOTE: Refer to «COMPONENT PARTS AND HARNESS CONNECTOR LOCATION»(ref-179055-S02975207652005062900000) . OK or NG OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. NG: If fuse is blownout, be sure to eliminate cause of malfunction before installing new fuse. Refer to «Component Parts and Harness Connector Location»(ref-179055-S02975207652005062900000) .
  2. Check power supply circuit (BCM) . Turn ignition switch OFF. Disconnect BCM connector. Check voltage between BCM connector and ground. OK or NG OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. NG: Check harness for open and short between BCM and fuse or fusible link.
  3. Check ground circuit (BCM) . Turn ignition switch OFF. Check continuity between BCM connector B14 terminal 49, 52 and ground. 49 (B) - Ground: Continuity should exist. 52 (B) - Ground: Continuity should exist. OK or NG OK: BCM circuit is OK. Check the driver seat control unit. GO TO NEXT STEP. NG: Repair or replace the harness between BCM and ground.
  4. Check fuse . Check 10A fuse [No.9, located in fuse block (J/B)]. NOTE: Refer to «COMPONENT PARTS AND HARNESS CONNECTOR LOCATION»(ref-179055-S02975207652005062900000) . OK or NG OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. NG: If fuse is blownout, be sure to eliminate cause of malfunction before installing new fuse. Refer to «COMPONENT PARTS AND HARNESS CONNECTOR LOCATION»(ref-179055-S02975207652005062900000) .
  5. Check power supply circuit (driver seat control unit) . Disconnect driver seat control unit connector. Check voltage between driver seat control unit and ground. OK or NG OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. NG: Repair or replace harness between driver seat control unit and fuse block (J/B).
  6. Check ground circuit (driver seat control unit) . Turn ignition switch OFF. Check continuity between the driver seat control unit connector B152, B153 terminal 16A, 61E and ground. 16A (B) - Ground: Continuity should exist. 61E (B/Y) - Ground: Continuity should exist. OK or NG OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. NG: Repair or replace harness between driver seat control unit and ground.
  7. Check power supply circuit (automatic drive positioner control unit) Disconnect automatic drive positioner control unit connector. Check voltage between automatic drive positioner control unit and ground. OK or NG OK: GO TO NEXT STEP. NG: Repair or replace harness between automatic drive positioner control unit and fuse block (J/B).
  8. Check ground circuit (automatic drive positioner control unit) . Check continuity between the automatic drive positioner control unit connector M50 terminal 40, 48 and ground. 40 (B) - Ground: Continuity should exist. 48 (B) - Ground: Continuity should exist. OK or NG OK: Driver seat control unit circuit is OK. NG: Repair or replace harness between automatic drive positioner control unit and ground.

CONSULT-II FUNCTION

The following functions are performed by combining data received and command transmitted via the communication line from the driver seat control unit.
