  1. Ignition ON (SSB LED "BLUE") & Vehicle "STOP".
  2. Connect GDS and select "DTC Analysis" mode.
  3. Click "DTC Status" on the menu bar to view DTC information.
  4. Confirm that the "DTC Readiness Flag" indicates "COMPLETED". If not, drive the vehicle within conditions noted in Freeze Frame Data or Enable Conditions.
  5. Read the "DTC Status" parameter.
  6. Is parameter displayed "Present fault"? YES Go to Next procedure. NO Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or Control module's connector or was repaired and Control module's memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.   1. Ignition ON/Hybrid Ready (Cluster Indicator "READY" On) Vehicle Parked.
  2. Connect GDS and select "Data Analysis" mode.
  3. Select "Current Data" mode and monitor "Drive Motor temperature" parameter. Specification : - 4 ~ 390°F (-20 ~ 200°C)
  4. Check below items if the current temperature is not normal condition. Check poor connection of Drive Motor Temperature Sensor connector. Check oil in the Drive Motor inside shares A/T oil and amount of ATF. Check the tendency of temperature changes between ATF and Driver Motor is similar. Check the temperature is changing with vehicle driving. Go to " «COMPONENT INSPECTION»(ref-419500-S42449193312011091200000) " procedure.

  1. Check Motor temperature sensor Ignition OFF Disconnect safety plug from the main battery. (Wait for more than 5 minutes after disconnecting) Disconnect Drive Motor temperature sensor and MCU main harness connector. Measure resistance between signal and ground terminals of Drive Motor temperature sensor. (Component Side) Specification : TEMPERATURE AND RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION Temperature (°C/°F) Resistance (kohms) 20/68 126.8 ± 6 50/122 33.5 ± 1.6 100/212 5.6 ± 0.28 Is the measured resistance within specifications?   1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminal condition. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
  2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

  1. Check short to ground in harness Ignition "OFF" Disconnect safety plug from the main battery. (Wait for more than 5 minutes after disconnecting) Disconnect Drive Motor temperature sensor and MCU main harness connector. Measure resistance between Signal terminal of MCU harness connector and chassis ground. Specification : Infinity Is the measured resistance within specifications? YES Go to Next procedure. Ignition "ON" Measure voltage between Signal terminal of Motor temperature sensor harness connector and chassis ground. Specification : 0V Is the measured voltage within specifications?   2. Check for open in harness Ignition OFF Disconnect safety plug from the main battery. Measure resistance between Signal (+) terminal of Drive Motor temperature sensor harness connector and Signal (+) terminal of MCU harness connector. Specification : Below 1ohms Is the measured resistance within specifications? YES Go to Next procedure. NO Check for open in harness. Specification : Below 1ohms Is the measured resistance within specifications? YES Go to Next procedure. NO Check for open in harness.   4. If the current temperature is abnormal, check below items. Check poor connection of Generator (HSG) Temperature Sensor connector. Check cooling system because Generator (HSG) cooling system failure gives influence to HSG temperature changes. Check Number of the Generator (HSG) operation and Generator (HSG) temperature changes as time goes by. Go to Next procedure.
