Generator Drive Belt Adjustment

Note. If the belt is too loose, it will cause noise or sudden wear. If the belt is too tight, the engine coolant pump bearing or the generator can get damaged.

  1. Loosen the alternator support bolt "A" and the alternator lock bolt "B". (Scheme 1)
  2. Using the tension adjuster bolt, adjust belt tension to specification. See «GENERATOR BELT ADJUSTMENT SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-168016-S11446959062004102700000) table.
  3. Tighten the generator lock bolt "B". See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-168016-S05633319822004102700000).
  4. Tighten the generator support bolt "A". See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-168016-S05633319822004102700000).
  5. Check the belt tension or deflection, adjust if necessary. See «GENERATOR DRIVE BELT ADJUSTMENT»(ref-168016-S00969064912004102700000).
