Torque Specifications

CAUTIONReplace the self-locking nuts with new ones after removal. The mark ' * ' indicates the parts which should be temporarily tightened, and then fully tightened with the vehicle on the ground in an unladen condition.

  1. Remove the front wheel.
  2. Detach the brake hose from the front shock absorber mounting fork.
  3. Remove the fork lower mounting bolt from the front lower arm bush.
  4. Remove the strut lower mounting bolt then remove the fork from the strut assembly.
  5. Remove the strut upper mounting nuts (3), the front cap and top mounting ring.
  6. While pushing the axle assembly upward remove the strut assembly.

Scheme 13: DISASSEMBLY
  1. Using the special tools (J38402, A-20) called spring compressor, compress the coil spring. NOTE: Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage the special tools.
  2. Remove the strut mounting self-locking nut, the washer and the front upper bushing (A) at the top end of the shock absorber.
  3. Remove the special tools (J38402, A-20), the front bracket assembly, the front spring upper pad and the front spring.
