DESCRIPTION

  1. The hydraulic control system consists of the following components: Oil pump: Generates the hydraulic pressure. Regulator: Maintains the hydraulic pressure at a constant level. Solenoid valves: Convert TCM signals to hydraulic pressure. Pressure control valve: Controls the hydraulic pressure acting on the clutches and brakes according to the hydraulic pressure from the solenoid valves. Individual valves: Direct line pressure to the various oil lines. These components are all housed in the valve body.
  2. Independent electronic control of the hydraulic pressure from the clutch and brake solenoid valves realizes smooth and highly responsive gear shifts.
  3. Oil filter is provided in one place. Also, the use of a newly developed automatic transaxle fluid (ATF) ensures a longer ATF service life.
  4. To prevent the escape of ATF from the valve body, clutches and brakes when the engine is not running, the valve drainage ports are connected to a single drainage port that is located at a high point on the casing, and a ball check valve is fitted at the end of the drainage line.
  5. In the event of an electronic control system fault, a switch valve and fail-safe valve arrangement enables operation in 3rd gear or reverse.
