1. Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub. Tightening torque: 88.2 ~ 107.8 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.0 ~ 79.5 lb-ft) NOTE: Be careful not to damage to the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A).
2. Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts, and then place the brake caliper assembly (A) with wire. Tightening torque: 83.4 ~ 98.0 N.m (8.5 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 61.5 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)
3. Remove the coking nut (A). Tightening torque: 240.3~ 269.7 N.m (24.5 ~ 27.5 kgf.m, 177.2 ~ 198.9 lb-ft) NOTE: The front hub coking nut should be replaced with new ones. After installation coking nut (A), stake the coking nut using a chisel and hammer as shown in the illustration below.
4. Remove the brake hose (A) and wheel speed sensor (B). Tightening torque: 6.8 ~ 10.8 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 7.9 lb-ft)
5. Remove the tie rod end ball joint (C) from the knuckle. Remove the split pin (A). Remove the castle nut (B). Tightening torque: 23.5 ~ 33.3 N.m (2.4 ~ 3.4 kgf.m, 17.4 ~ 24.6 lb-ft)
6. Disconnect the ball joint (A) from knuckle using the special tool (09568-4A000).
7. Remove the lower arm (A) mounting bolt and nut from the knuckle. Tightening torque: 98.0 ~ 117.6 N.m (10.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 ~ 86.7 lb-ft)
8. Loosen the strut mounting bolts (A) and then remove the hub and knuckle assembly from the strut assembly (B). Tightening torque: 137.2 ~ 156.9 N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0 kgf.m, 101.2 ~ 115.7 lb-ft)
9. Install in the reverse order of removal. Information Use a SST (09581-11000) when installing the brake caliper assembly. Refer to «FRONT DISC BRAKE»(/hyundai/santa-fe/iii-2012-2016/remont/mechanical-hydraulic/#brake-system) .
10. Check the front alignment. Refer to «FRONT ALIGNMENT»(/hyundai/santa-fe/iii-2012-2016/remont/suspension-front/#front-suspension-system-wheel-alignment) .

1. Remove the brake disc (B) from the knuckle assembly (A). Tightening torque: 4.9 ~ 5.9 N.m (0.5 ~ 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 ~ 4.3 lb-ft)
2. Remove the hub assembly mounting bolts (B) from the knuckle (A). Tightening torque: 78.4 ~ 98.0 N.m (8.0 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 57.8 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)
3. Remove the hub assembly (C) and the dust cover (B) from the knuckle (A). NOTE: Do not disassemble the hub assembly.
4. Reassembly in the reverse order of disassembly.

Inspection

1. Check the hub for cracks and the splines for wear.
2. Check the brake disc for scoring and damage.
3. Check the knuckle for cracks
4. Check the bearing for cracks or damage.
