TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 1
The TPMS system does not require a relearn for tire rotation. If a TPMS wheel sensor is replaced or the TPMS receiver is replaced, the sensor IDs must be registered into the receiver. The following procedure is used to register the sensors into the receiver.
Note. In the following procedure, a TPMS exciter scan tool must be used.
Note. If tire pressure sensor is replaced, it will need to be initiated. The TPM system is not affected by wheel and tire rotation.
Note. Do not perform this procedure if vehicle is parked on a metal floor, roof or on an alignment rack/lift. The metal will transfer the RF signals, which can cause the learn procedure to fail and set Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Holding TPMS exciter within 3" (76 mm) of the sensor valve, read each tire pressure sensor ID in the following order: front left, front right, rear left, then rear right.
- Connect TPMS exciter to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. Register the 4 sensor IDs to receiver. (Scheme 1)and see scheme 2.
- Disconnect TPMS exciter from diagnostic link. Cycle ignition and wait 4 minutes. Ensure "NORMAL RECEIVER STATE" is now displayed.
TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 2
The TPMS system does not require a relearn for tire rotation. The TPMS receiver will complete a learn procedure after vehicle is driven up to 20 minutes at speeds over 12 mph (20 km/h). If a TPMS wheel sensor is replaced or the TPMS receiver is replaced, the sensor IDs must be registered into the receiver. The following procedure is used to register the sensors into the receiver.
Note. The TPM system is not affected by wheel and tire rotation. If tire pressure sensor is replaced, it will need to be initiated. See appropriate manufacturer service information.
Note. In the following procedure, a TPMS exciter scan tool must be used.
Note. When 4 sensor have been learned as road wheels, it is not possible to learn new road wheel sensors on the same ignition cycle.

Note. The sensor's default state will be Storage Auto (High Line).
Scheme 1
- Using TPMS exciter, change the sensor mode to Normal Fixed Base (Low Line). see scheme 3
- Holding TPMS exciter within 3" (76 mm) of the sensor valve, read each tire pressure sensor ID in the following order: front left, front right, rear left, then rear right. NOTE: Sensors which were already configured as Base (Low Line) will take longer to read.
- Connect TPMS exciter to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. Register the 4 sensor IDs to receiver. (Scheme 1)and see scheme 2.
- Disconnect TPMS exciter from diagnostic link. Cycle ignition and wait 4 minutes. Ensure "NORMAL RECEIVER STATE" is now displayed. NOTE: The TPMS receiver will complete the learn procedure of the new sensor after vehicle is driven up to 20 minutes at speeds over 12 mph (20 km/h).

Note. If tire pressure sensor is replaced, it will need to be initiated. See TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR INITIATION . The TPM system is not affected by wheel and tire rotation.
TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 4
System Reset
Note. There is no reset procedure necessary for this TPM system. Corrected tire inflation pressure will cause the TPMS indicator to shut off once the tire pressure sensor reports to the TPMS receiver, approximately 20 minutes after the vehicle stops moving, or 20 minutes of continuous driving.
Note. The low tire pressure telltale comes on for 3 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. If the warning lights do not come on, or continuously remains on after coming on for about 3 seconds when you turned the ignition switch to the ON position, the Tire pressure System may not be working properly. On some models, a TPMS malfunction is indicated by a separate telltale, which displays the symbol "TPMS" when illuminated. When this malfunction indicator is illuminated, the system may not be able to detect or signal low tire pressure as intended.
| CAUTION | The TPMS malfunction indicator may be illuminated if the vehicle is moving around electric power supply cables or radios transmitter such as at police stations, government and public offices, broadcasting stations, military installations, airports, or transmitting towers, etc. The malfunction indicator may also illuminate if snow chains or some separately purchased devices such as notebook computers, mobile charger, remote starter, navigation etc. are used in the vehicle. |
| CAUTION | If the vehicle has a failed tire sensor, it is possible for the TPMS to temporarily "learn" a sensor on another vehicle that is also equipped with the same TPM system, if closely driven to that vehicle. In rare cases, this may temporarily delay the TPMS malfunction indicator from turning on. |
Sensor Registration
New tire pressure sensors must be registered to the TPM system. A Hyundai Global Diagnostic System (GDS) and GDS TPMS module are required to perform the sensor registration procedure. Select the model and ID Register, then perform the sensor registration procedure according to instructions on the GDS.
