Scheme 9: TAPE HEAD AND CAPSTAN CLEANING

To obtain optimum performance, clean the head, and capstan as often as necessary, depending on frequency of use and tape cleanness.
To clean the tape head and capstan, use a cotton swab dipped in ordinary rubbing an alcohol. Wipe the head and capstan.

Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
Remove the crash pad center garnish. (Refer to the «CRASH PAD»(ref-287152-S26701805032008060600000) ).
Remove the center facia panel (A) after loosening the screws. Avoid damaging retaining dips.
Remove the connectors of digital clock and hazard switch.
Remove the mounting screws then remove the audio unit (B).
Installation is the reverse of removal.

Scheme 12: INSPECTION

Troubleshooting for Speaker Basic inspection of speaker after verifying that the speaker mounting screws is removed and the wiring connector is connected precisely to remove vibration transmitted from body trims and surrounding parts. Case Troubleshooting Inspection/Remedy No. Case Inspection/Remedy 1 Trembling sound 1) Before replacing the speaker, inspect that the mounting screw is installed normally. 2) After re-installing the speaker, verify that no trembling sound is hard. 3) When hearing a trembling sound again, replace the speaker with new one. 2 Noise 1) Check if the wiring connector is connected normally. If not, reconnect the wiring connector 2) In case of radio static, check if there is a noise from cassette. 3) When a noise is heard on turning radio, cassette and CD on, replace the speaker with new one. NOTE: In case there is only radio static, this causes from poor radio reception. Thus the speaker needs no repair and replacement. 3 Poor working Inspection of the wiring connection between the battery and the speaker 1) Before replacing the speaker, inspect the wiring connection between the battery and the speaker is normal. 2) Check the supplying power to the speaker and the resistance, then inspect the sound quality. Specified impedance: 2 ~ 4ohms 3) If the speaker works poorly, replace it with new one.

CAUTION

During dealing of speaker Do not damage the speaker with impact as like a drop and a throw. Be careful not to cover water and oil over the speaker. Caution during dealing of speaker because the material of diaphragm is paper which is easy to torn by impact and external force. When modifying audio system as customer please, this does electric damage to speaker. And, in this case the speakers are not covered by the manufacture's warranty.

Remove the front door trim panel (Refer to the «FRONT DOOR»(ref-287165-S41953107162008060600000) ).
Remove the front speaker (A) after removing 4 rivets.
Installation is the reverse of removal.

Remove the rear speaker (A) after removing 4 rivets.
Installation is the reverse of removal.

Remove the tweeter speaker (A) after loosening 2 screws and disconnecting the connector.

Remove the woofer speaker (A) after removing 4 bolts.

Remove the rear package tray. (Refer to the «PACKAGE TRAY»(ref-287152-S00320177932008060600000) ).
Remove the rear package tray speaker(A) after loosening the. 2 screws and disconnecting the connector.
Installation is the reverse of removal.

Remove the rear headlining.
Remove the SDARS roof antenna from the roof inner panel after loosening the mounting nut(A) and disconnecting the cable(B).
Installation is the reverse of removal.

Wrap aluminum foil (A) around the tip of the tester probe (B) as shown.
Touch one tester probe to the glass antenna terminal (A) hear, and move the other tester probe along the antenna wires to check that continuity exists.
