| CAUTION | DO NOT attempt to adjust throttle valve set screw. Set screw is factory adjusted. If engine idle RPM is not within specification, ensure input and output signal values of appropriate sensors are within specifications. |
Note. On Accent, Elantra and Tiburon, manufacturer does not recommend cleaning throttle body because any carbon buildup does not affect vehicle operation.
Check throttle body for cracks. Check for restrictions in throttle body vacuum ports and passages. Using compressed air, carefully blow debris from vacuum ports and passages. DO NOT remove throttle valve from throttle body. Ensure accelerator cable moves freely and does not bind or interfere when moving throttle valve.
Using a NEW gasket, install throttle body on intake manifold (plenum). Tighten mounting bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . After installing accelerator cable, hold exposed portion of cable at center and move cable up and down to ensure slight amount of play exists. Connect negative battery cable.
