DESCRIPTION & OPERATION

The collapsible steering system consists of an upper and lower shaft joined by a collapsible (bellows type) section. The bellows section compresses under impact, without affecting turning motion.

AIR BAG SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

Turn ignition on. SRS Service Reminder Indicator (SRI) light should flash for 6 seconds, then turn off. If SRS SRI does not function as stated, a failure has occurred in SRS. Repair malfunctioning SRS. See AIR BAG SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . See DIAGNOSIS & TESTING in the following articles
