Power Window Master Switch Input Test
Note. Make sure the ignition switch is to LOCK (0) before disconnecting the connectors.
Scheme 3
- Before testing the power windows, troubleshoot the multiplex integrated control system using B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A (see «TROUBLESHOOTING - B-CAN SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TEST MODE A»(ref-336494-S14750832832009072700000) ).
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0).
- Remove the power window master switch (see «PASSENGER'S POWER WINDOW MOTOR TEST»(ref-336508-S35518542292009072700000) ).
- Disconnect the 23P connector (A) from the power window master switch (B).
- Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact. If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system. If the terminals look OK, Go to step 6.
- With the connector still disconnected, do the following input tests: If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, Go to step 7. - Reconnect the connector to the power window master switch, turn the ignition switch to ON (II) and do these input tests at the following connector. If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system. If all the input tests prove OK, the control unit must be faulty; replace the power window master switch (see «Power Window Master Switch Replacement»(ref-336508-S12509656322009072700000) ), and Go to step 8. - Remove the door panel (see «FRONT DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-336506-S36073565842009072700000) ).
- Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from the power window motor.
- Test the motor in each direction by connecting battery power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect one lead immediately.
- If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the driver's door regulator (see «FRONT DOOR GLASS AND REGULATOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-336506-S20008129672009072700000) ). Hall IC Unit (Pulser) Test
- Reconnect the 6P connector to the power window motor.
- Measure the voltage between the terminals. There should be battery voltage between terminals No. 6 (+) and No. 5 (-) when the ignition switch is ON (II). Connect an analog voltmeter between terminals No. 3 (+) and No. 5 (-), and run the window motor down or up. The voltmeter needle should move back and forth alternately (a digital voltmeter should show the average voltage between 0-5 V). Connect an analog voltmeter between terminals No. 2 (+) and No. 5 (-), and run the window motor at down or up. The voltmeter needle should move back and forth alternately (a digital voltmeter should show the average voltage between 0-5 V).
- If the voltage is not as specified, do the power window master switch input test (terminals No. 4, No. 6 and No. 17) (see «POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH INPUT TEST»(ref-336508-S11558510652009072700000) ).
- If the switch test is OK, replace the power window motor.
- Reset the power window control unit (see «RESETTING THE POWER WINDOW CONTROL UNIT»(ref-336508-S04741139082009072700000) ).

- Remove the door panel. Front door (see «FRONT DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-336506-S36073565842009072700000) ). Rear door (see «REAR DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-336506-S23255052342009072700000) ).
- Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from the power window motor.
- Test the motor by connecting battery power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect one lead immediately.
- If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the passenger's door regulator. - Remove the driver's door panel (see «FRONT DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-336506-S36073565842009072700000) ).
- Remove the four mounting screws, then remove the master switch (A) from the switch panel (B).
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Reset the power window control unit (see «RESETTING THE POWER WINDOW CONTROL UNIT»(ref-336508-S04741139082009072700000) ).

- Remove the front passenger's door panel (see «FRONT DOOR PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-336506-S36073565842009072700000) ).
- Remove the four mounting screws, then remove the power window switch (A) from the switch panel (B).
- Check for continuity between terminals No. 3 and No. 4. There should be continuity.
- Check for continuity among terminals No. 8, No. 9 and No. 10. There should be continuity.
- If the continuity is not as specified, replace the front passenger's power window switch. If the continuity is OK, go to step 6.
- Test the switch by connecting battery power to the terminal No. 6 and connecting ground to the terminal No. 9.
- Measure the battery voltage between terminals No. 9 and No. 10 with the UP operation. There should be battery voltage.
- Measure the battery voltage between terminals No. 8 and No. 9 with the DOWN operation. There should be battery voltage.
- If the battery voltage is not as specified, replace the front passenger's power window switch.
- Install the switch in the reverse order of removal.

- Remove the rear door panel (see «FRONT DOOR SIDE SILL SEAL REPLACEMENT»(ref-336506-S41327199362009072700000) ).
- Remove the two mounting screws, then remove the power window switch (A) from the switch panel (B).
- Swap the rear power window switch with another known-good switch and test. If the original power window switch is faulty; replace it.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from the back window motor.
- Test the motor by connecting battery power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect one lead immediately.
- If the motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the back window middle glass regulator (see «BACK WINDOW MIDDLE GLASS REGULATOR REPLACEMENT»(ref-336509-S26823855722009072700000) ).

- Remove the three mounting screws, then remove the back power window switch (A) from the switch panel (B).
- Swap the back power window switch with another known-good switch and test. If the original back power window switch is faulty; replace it.
- Install the switch in the reverse order of removal.
- Reset the power window control unit (see «RESETTING THE POWER WINDOW CONTROL UNIT»(ref-336508-S04741139082009072700000) ).

- Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the back power window position switch (B).
- Check for continuity between the terminals in each back power window position according to the table.
- If the continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.
- Install the switch in the reverse order of removal.
