- Turn the light switch OFF.
- Carefully pry off the lens (A) with a small screwdriver.
- Remove the four mounting screws.
- Disconnect the 3P connector (B) from the housing (C)
- Check for continuity between the terminals: There should be continuity between the No. 1 and No. 3 terminals with the switch ON. There should be continuity between the No. 1 and No. 2 terminals with the switch OFF.
- If the continuity is not as specified, check the bulb(s). If the bulb(s) are OK, replace the light. MAP LIGHT: 6.2 W

- Turn the interior light switch OFF.
- If only replace the bulb (A), carefully pry off the lens (B) with a small screwdriver.
- Remove the grab handle (see step 5 in «HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-174030-S37597567812005042500000) ).
- Disconnect the 3P connector (A) from the light (B)
- Carefully remove the heat shield from the light. Replace the bulb if necessary.
- Check for continuity between the terminals: There should be continuity between the NO. 1 and No. 3 terminals with the switch ON. There should be continuity between the No. 1 and No. 2 terminals with the switch OFF.
- If the continuity is not as specified, replace the light. MAP LIGHT: 12.4 W
Scheme 8
- Open the tailgate.
- Carefully pry off the lens (A) with a small screwdriver.
- Remove the two mounting screws.
- Disconnect the 3P connector (B) from the housing (C).
- Check for continuity between the terminals. There should be continuity between the No. 1 and No. 3 terminals with the switch ON.
- If the continuity is not as specified, check the bulb(s). If the bulb(s) are OK, replace the light. TAILGATE LIGHT: 5 W x 2

- Open the tailgate.
- Remove the tailgate trim panel (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TAILGATE AREA»(ref-174030-S19310355362005042500000) ).
- Disconnect the 2P connector from the tailgate latch.
- Check for continuity between the No. 1 and No. 2 terminals: With the tailgate open, there should be continuity. With the tailgate closed, there should be no continuity.
- If the continuity is not as specified, replace the tailgate latch switch.
Scheme 10
- Remove the glove box (see «GLOVE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-174030-S37812666562005042500000) ).
- Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the glove box light (B).
- Check for continuity between the No. 1 and No. 2 terminals: With the button (C) pressed, there should be no continuity. With the button (C) released, there should be continuity.
- If the continuity is not as specified, check the bulb. If the bulb is OK, replace the light. GLOVE BOX LIGHT: 3.4 W
Scheme 11
- Remove the center lower cover (see «CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-174030-S31369994412005042500000) )
- Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the front console light (B).
- Turn the bulb socket (C) 45° counterclockwise to remove it from the light. FRONT CONSOLE LIGHT: 1.4 W

- Open the sunvisor.
- Remove the sunvisor (see page «HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-174030-S37597567812005042500000) ).
- Disconnect the 2P connector (A) from the vanity mirror light.
- Check for continuity between the No. 1 and No. 2 terminals: With the vanity mirror cover (B) opened, there should be continuity. With the vanity mirror cover closed, there should be no continuity.
- If the continuity is not as specified, check the bulbs. If the bulbs are OK, replace the sunvisor. VANITY MIRROR LIGHT: 1.1 W

- Carefully pry off the lens (A) with a small screwdriver.

- Remove the switch panel (see «DRIVER'S SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-174030-S01226226162005042500000) ).
- Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from the interior lights switch (B).
- Pull the interior lights switch out of the switch panel.
- Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.
- If the continuity is not as specified, replace the bulb (C) or the switch.
Scheme 16
- Disconnect the noise condenser connector.
- Use a commercially available condenser tester. Connect the condenser tester probes and measure the condenser capacity. Capacity: 0.47 microfarads
- If not within the specifications, replace the noise condenser.
