Radiator and A/C Condenser Fan Replacement
Note. Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces. To avoid damaging the wires and terminals, unplug the wiring connectors carefully while holding the connector portion. Mark all wiring and hoses to avoid misconnection. Also, be sure that they do not contact any other wiring or hoses, or interfere with any other parts.

- Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and navigation system, then write down the customer's audio presets. Make sure the ignition switch is OFF.
- Disconnect the negative cable from the battery first, then disconnect the positive cable.
- Remove the front grill cover (see «FRONT GRILLE COVER REPLACEMENT»(ref-220977-S15358373212006022200000) ).
- Remove the battery.
- Remove the engine wire harness connectors (A) from the battery base.
- Remove the three mounting bolts (B) and loosen mounting bolt (C), then remove the battery base (D).
- Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector (A) and fan motor connectors (B).
- Disconnect the hood switch connector (C).
- J35A6 engine: Disconnect the engine mount control solenoid valve connector (A) and vacuum hoses (B).
- Remove the ground cable (C) and harness clamp (D).
- Remove the two bolts securing the reservoir, then remove the reservoir.
- Remove the two bolts (A) securing the radiator fan shroud, then remove the radiator fan shroud assembly (B) from the battery side.
- Remove the two bolts (C), and loosen the two bolts (D) securing the A/C condenser fan shroud, then remove the A/C condenser fan shroud assembly (E) from the battery side.
- Install the radiator and A/C condenser fans in the reverse order of removal.
- Install the battery. Clean the battery posts and cable terminals with sandpaper, then assemble them and apply grease to prevent corrosion.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then enter the customer's audio presets.
- Set the clock.

- Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the customer's audio presets. Make sure the ignition switch OFF.
- Drain the engine coolant (see «COOLANT CHECK»(ref-220943-S20199059792006022100000) ).
- Disconnect the negative cable from the battery first, then disconnect the positive cable.
- Remove the battery.
- Remove the front grill cover (see «FRONT GRILLE COVER REPLACEMENT»(ref-220977-S15358373212006022200000) ) and the front grille (see «FRONT GRILLE REPLACEMENT»(ref-220977-S27509195092006022200000) ).
- Remove the upper radiator hose.
- Remove the radiator and A/C condenser fans (see «RADIATOR AND A/C CONDENSER FAN REPLACEMENT»(ref-220943-S26872815502006022100000) ).
- Remove the lower radiator hose (A) and automatic transmission fluid (ATF) cooler hoses (B). Plug the ATF cooler hoses and lines.
- Remove the radiator upper brackets/cushions (A).
- Remove the engine hood latch (B) (see «HOOD LATCH REPLACEMENT»(ref-220979-S29731313482006022200000) ).
- Pull up the radiator assembly (A), then remove the lower cushions (B).
- Install the radiator and fans in the reverse order of removal.
- Set the upper and lower cushions securely.
- Fill the radiator with engine coolant and bleed the air from the system (see step 8 in «COOLANT REPLACEMENT»(ref-220943-S33824314882006022100000) ).
- Adjust the engine hood latch (see «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-220974-S23531538232006022200000) ).
- Install the battery. Clean the battery posts and cable terminals with sandpaper, then assemble them and apply grease to prevent corrosion.
- Enter the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then enter the customer's audio presets.
- Set the clock.
