ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)
Note. Engine Control Module (ECM) may also be referred to as Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
FUEL SYSTEM
| WARNING | ALWAYS relieve fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel injection related component. DO NOT allow fuel to contact engine or electrical components. |
FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE
Remove negative battery terminal. Loosen fuel tank filler cap. Locate 6-mm service bolt on fuel rail or fuel filter. Place clean shop rag around service bolt. To relieve system pressure, slowly loosen service bolt one complete turn. Always replace washer under 6-mm service bolt after loosening.
Quick-Connect Fittings
Relieve fuel pressure. Check quick-connect fittings for dirt and clean if necessary. Grasp connector with one hand. With other hand, squeeze retainer tabs inward. (Scheme 3) Pull fuel lines apart.

HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S)
Protect HO2S electrical connector from damage when removing sensor. Ensure sensor is free of contaminants. Avoid using cleaning solvents of any type. Sensor may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is less than 120°F (49°C). Always use anti-seize compound on threads prior to installation. Tighten sensor to specification.
THROTTLE BODY
Note. Torque throttle body mounting nuts to 16 ft. lbs. (22 N.m).
