SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.
Note. Put on gloves to protect your hands. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts. Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage. Eject all the discs before removing the audio unit to prevent damaging the CD player's load mechanism. If you are replacing the audio unit, write down the audio presets (if possible), then enter them into the new audio unit.
- Make sure you have anti-theft code for the audio system.
- Remove the center console panel (see «CENTER CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512944-S09151608322012110500000) ) and the center pocket (see «CENTER POCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512938-S29674176392012110500000) ).
- Remove the driver's inner dashboard trim (see «DRIVER'S OUTER DASHBOARD TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512938-S00391611532012110500000) ), and the passenger's dashboard trim (see «PASSENGER'S DASHBOARD TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512938-S17181034022012110500000) ).
- Remove the self-tapping screws and bolts (A), then pull out the audio unit (B).
- Disconnect the connectors (C), then remove the audio unit.
- Remove the climate control unit (see «WITHOUT NAVIGATION»(ref-512960-S32980037872012110500000) ).
- Remove the self-tapping screws and knob (A) from the audio unit (B), then remove the audio unit from the audio switch panel (C).
- Remove the bolts (D) and the brackets (E).
- Install the audio unit in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Make sure all the connectors and the antenna lead are secure. Enter the anti-theft code for the audio system. Set the clock. Give the new anti-theft code to the customer if you are replacing the audio unit.

Lay a workshop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage. Do not work in a dusty or dirty place. Discharge static electricity from your body before and during the work. Do not touch the circuit board with your bare hands. Do not work with dirty hands. Be careful not no fold the flat plate cable. Do not touch the terminal connector of the flat plate cable with your bare hands (If you have touched it, wipe it off thoroughly).
- Remove the audio unit (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512920-S15569304922012110500000) ).
- Remove the interface dial (see «INTERFACE DIAL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512942-S05804724772012110500000) ).
- Remove the climate control switch (see «WITHOUT NAVIGATION»(ref-512960-S32980037872012110500000) ).
- Remove the self-tapping screws from the audio unit (A), then remove the audio unit from the audio-navigation switch panel (B).
- Remove the bolts (C) and brackets (D) from the audio unit.
- Install the audio-navigation switch panel in the reverse order of removal.
Note. Put on gloves to protect your hands. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts. Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage. Do not work in a dusty or dirty place. Discharge static electricity from your body before and during the work. Do not touch the circuit board with your bare hands. Do not work with dirty hands. Be careful not no fold the flat plate cable. Do not touch the terminal connector of the flat plate cable with your bare hands (If you have touched it, wipe it off thoroughly).
- Remove the audio unit (see «WITHOUT NAVIGATION»(ref-512920-S01151728512012110500000) ).
- Remove the mounting screws, then remove the audio switch panel (A) from the audio unit (B).
- Install the audio switch panel in the reverse order of removal.
Note. Put on gloves to protect your hands. Take care not to scratch the dashboard and related parts. Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage. Eject all the discs before remove the audio disc changer to prevent damaging the audio disc changer load mechanism.
- Remove the center console panel (see «CENTER CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512944-S09151608322012110500000) ) and the center pocket (see «CENTER POCKET REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512938-S29674176392012110500000) ).
- Remove the bolts (A), then pull out the audio disc changer (B).
- Disconnect the connector (C), then remove the audio disc changer.
- Remove the bolts (A) and brackets (B).
- Install the audio disc changer in the reverse order of removal.
Note. Put on gloves to protect your hands. Take care not to scratch the dashboard. Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
- Remove the dashboard center vent (see «CENTER DASHBOARD VENT (WITH NAVIGATION)»(ref-512938-S39992364282012110500000) ).
- Remove the self-tapping screws and the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit (A) from the dashboard center vent (B).
- Install the audio-HVAC subdisplay unit in the reverse order of removal.
Note. Put on gloves to protect your hands. Take care not to scratch the dashboard. Lay a shop towel under the parts when working on them to protect the face panel from scratches or other damage.
- Remove the audio unit (see «AUDIO UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512920-S15569304922012110500000) ) and the center display visor (see «CENTER DISPLAY VISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512938-S17137589982012110500000) ).
- Remove the self-tapping screws and bolts (A), then pull out the audio-HVAC display unit (B).
- Disconnect the connector (C), and remove the audio-HVAC display unit.
- Install the audio-HVAC display unit in the reverse order of removal.
- Remove the passenger's dashboard undercover (see «DRIVER'S DASHBOARD UNDERCOVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512938-S29462514272012110400000) ) and right side kick panel (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - DOOR AREAS»(ref-512953-S29657915772012110500000) ).
- Disconnect the connectors (A) from the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box (B).
- Disconnect the connectors (A) from the stereo amplifier (B), then loosen the bolts (C).
- Pull the stereo amplifier (A) up, then remove it.
- Install the stereo amplifier in the reverse order of removal.
- Remove the passenger's rear side trim panel (see «REAR FLOOR COVER HANDLE»(ref-512953-S10942559632012110500000) ).
- Remove the bolt (A) and loosen the bolts (B), then pull out the XM receiver (C).
- Disconnect the connectors (D), and remove the XM receiver.
- Install the XM receiver in the reverse order of removal.
- If you are replacing the XM receiver, register the new XM receiver I.D. number with XM Radio by calling 800-852-9696.
- Remove the center console (see «CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-512944-S40171152902012110400000) ).
- Disconnect the connectors (A) from the USB adapter control unit (B).
- Remove the self-tapping screws and the USB adapter control unit.
- Install the USB adapter control unit in the reverse order of removal.
