System Description

The Multiplex Control System has four internal functions

  1. Multiplexing (send multiple signals over shared wires)
  2. Wake up/sleep (runs at full power only on demand to reduce battery draw)
  3. Fail-safe (fixes or ignores faulty signals)
  4. Self-diagnosis (Mode 1 for the system, Mode 2 for input lines)

The system controls the function of these circuits

  1. Entry light control (ignition key light and ceiling light)
  2. Wiper/washer (including intermittent wipe and park functions)
  3. Interlock system
  4. Keyless/power Door Lock
  5. Key-in reminder
  6. Meter assembly, temperature gauge, and indicator lights
  7. HVAC (compressor and fan control)
