IGNITION TIMING (GASOLINE)

All models are equipped with an electronic computer-controlled ignition system. Timing on this system is adjustable on Tracker equipped with 2.0L engine. Timing adjustment procedure and specification is not available from manufacturer.

INJECTION PUMP TIMING (DIESEL)

Injection pump timing can be checked using scan tool. See DIESEL INJECTION PUMP TIMING table. See appropriate ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article for adjustment procedure.

INJECTOR RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS (1)

IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE (GASOLINE)

CONTROLLED IDLE SPEED & IAC COUNT

IDLE SPEED (6.5L DIESEL)

Idle speed is adjustable on 6.5L diesel (L57) only. L57 engine uses mechanical fuel injection. All others use electronic fuel injection in which PCM controls all fuel delivery modes based on inputs from AAP, ECT and BARO sensors. Adjust idle speed on L57 engine by turning low idle speed screw on injection pump to curb idle speed specification shown on emission control information label.

THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR

Note. On 6.5L diesel engines, throttle control is electronic with NO mechanical link from engine to accelerator pedal. The PCM monitors the position of accelerator pedal based on signals from a nonadjustable Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) module. The APP module is mounted above the accelerator pedal.
