PROGRAMMING BCM
Note. Use of Tech 2 scan tool is recommended for programming BCM. A generic scan tool may not be capable of performing all necessary programming functions. Refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions.
- Ensure battery is fully charged. Turn ignition on. Program BCM using scan tool. Refer to Techline(R) terminal and equipment user's instructions.
- If BCM fails to program, check all connections. Ensure latest software version for scan tool is used. Retry programming BCM. If programming fails again, replace BCM. See «BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)»(ref-139371-S35701082562002043000000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
BCM RELEARN PROCEDURE
Note. Relearn procedure should be performed if any of the following components are replaced, PassLock(R) sensor, Body Control Module (BCM), Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Vehicle Control Module (VCM). Performing relearn procedure will take about 10 minutes with use of scan tool. Without the use of a scan tool, relearn procedure will take about 30 minutes.
RETRIEVING & CLEARING DTCS
Note. Disconnecting battery cables or BCM harness connectors will NOT clear history DTC(s).
A scan tool must be used to retrieve and clear DTCs. The scan tool also has several features that can be used to help locate an intermittent condition.
DTCs can be cleared using a scan tool. If conditions for malfunction no longer exist, history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles.

SYSTEM TESTS
Note. For wiring and connector terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
Note. When testing procedure indicates to probe or check a terminal, use adapters from connector Test Adapter Kit (J-35616-A). This will ensure terminal will not be damaged, and that connection is okay.
Note. Only disconnect specified BCM/TBC module connector. If all BCM/TBC module connectors need to be disconnected, they need to be disconnected in a specific order, or BCM/TBC related DTCs will set. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)
Note. Ensure ignition is off when disconnecting BCM harness connectors. ALWAYS disconnect Brown BCM connector first and reconnect it last to avoid setting DTC.
