Aiming Procedure

  1. Park the vehicle on a level surface 7.6 m (25 ft) (3) away from a wall or other flat surface.
  2. Measure the distance from the floor to the center of the fog lamp (5).
  3. Using this measurement, mark the horizontal centerline of the fog lamp (1) on the flat surface directly in front of the vehicle.
  4. Remove the front portion of the front wheel liner in order to access the adjusting screw.
  5. Turn ON the fog lamps.
  6. Reach inside of the front portion of the fender liner in order to access the fog lamp vertical adjustment screw on the bottom of the fog lamp.
  7. Adjust the fog lamp so that the top edge of the fog lamp beam pattern is 100 mm (4 in) below the horizontal centerline (2).
  8. Turn OFF the fog lamps.
  9. Secure the forward edge of the front fender liner.

1Lamp Harness Socket Tip: Rotate the marker lamp socket a quarter turn counterclockwise and remove the lamp socket from the headlamp assembly.
2Front Side Marker Lamp Bulb Tip: Pull the front side marker lamp bulb straight from the lamp socket.

Scheme 43: Rear Fender Clearance Lamp Replacement

Preliminary Procedure Reach inside the rear fender and wheelhouse in order to disconnect the electrical connector for the rear fender lamp from the main chassis harness. Disengage the retainer securing the connector to the pick up box panel brace. From inside the wheelhouse push inward on the locking tab for the lamp assembly and push the lamp outward from the fender. Remove the lamp and electrical harness.
1Rear Fender Clearance Lamps Tip: The amber lens is installed to the front of the rear fender and the red lens is installed at the rear of the rear fender.

Preliminary Procedures Ensure the headlamp switch is in the OFF position. Reach under the bumper and press on the lens end of the cover in order to release the locking tab. Push outward to disengage the lens housing from the rear bumper. Remove the lens housing from the bumper assembly. Remove and replace the bulb as needed.

Procedure Reach under the rear bumper for the bulb socket. Turn the bulb socket counter-clockwise and pull the bulb socket out of the connector. Pull the old bulb from the socket, keeping the bulb straight as you pull it out. Install the new bulb.
