Third & Fourth Clutch Accumulator Disassembly

Note. Apply low pressure compressed air to the hole at the top of the accumulator housing to assist with the piston removal.

  1. Remove the 3rd clutch accumulator piston. (Scheme 139)
  2. Remove the 3rd clutch accumulator piston seals.
  3. Remove the 4th clutch accumulator piston pin retainer ring.
  4. Remove the 4th clutch accumulator piston and pin from the accumulator housing.
  5. Remove the 4th clutch accumulator piston pin from the accumulator housing.
  6. Remove the 4th clutch accumulator piston seal from the accumulator housing.

Third & Fourth Clutch Accumulator Reassembly

  1. Install the 3rd clutch accumulator piston inner and outer seals. Lubricate the 3rd clutch accumulator piston seals with appropriate automatic transmission fluid. (Scheme 139)
  2. Install the 3rd clutch accumulator piston.
  3. Install the 4th clutch accumulator piston seal. Lubricate the 4th clutch accumulator piston seal with appropriate automatic transmission fluid.
  4. Assemble the 4th clutch accumulator piston pin with the 4th clutch accumulator piston.
  5. Install the 4th clutch accumulator piston assembly into the accumulator housing.
  6. Install the 4th clutch accumulator piston pin retainer ring onto the 4th clutch accumulator piston pin.
